E. Stamford and L. Middleton take the Oaths.
This Day Thomas Earl of Stamford and Thomas Lord Middleton took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
E. of Halifax introduced:
George Lord Halifax, being, by Letters Patents, dat. Decimo Quarto Die Junii, Primo Georgii Regis, created Viscount Sunbury in the County of Midd'x, and Earl of Halifax, was this Day, in his Robes, introduced, between the Earl of Manchester and the Earl of Scarbrough, also in their Robes; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, Clarencieux King at Arms in the Absence of Garter King at Arms, and the Lord Great Chamberlain, preceding.
His Lordship presented his Patent to the Lord Chancellor, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who delivered it to the Clerk; and the same was read, at the Table.
His Writ of Summons was also read, as follows:

Foreigners, Act concerning, Bill to explain.
Whereas this Day was appointed, for the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act to explain the Act made in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of King William the Third, intituled, An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject:"
It is Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time To-morrow.
Woollaston and Lake versus Attor. Gen. and Preston:
After hearing Counsel Yesterday and this Day, upon the Petition and Appeal of Richard Woollaston Esquire and Sir Biby Lake Baronet, complaining of a Decree of the Court of Exchequer, made the Eighteenth Day of June 1713, in a Cause wherein Sir Edward Northey Knight Attorney General, at the Relation of Elizabeth Preston, Executrix of Thomas Preston Esquire deceased, were Plaintiffs, and Richard Woollaston Esquire and Sir Biby Lake Baronet, Defendants; and praying, "That the said Decree may be reversed and set aside:" As also upon the Answer of the said Sir Edward Northey His Majesty's Attorney General and the said Elizabeth Preston put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon; and hearing also the joint Opinion of the Judges, delivered by the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, as to the Validity of a Lease, dated 27th of April 1695, made by His late Majesty King William, of the Scite of the Monastery of Furneis, and several Lands and Hereditaments thereunto belonging (being the Estate in Question), for Fifteen Years from Lady-day 1711, to the said Thomas Preston, his Executors and Assigns, in regard the same passed only under the Great Seal:
Judgement affirmed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the said Decree therein complained of be, and is hereby, affirmed.
Bridges versus Hitchcock & al.
Whereas Tuesday next is appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein Shem Bridges Esquire is Appellant, and John Hitchcock and Thomas Wethered are Respondents:
The House being this Day moved, at the Desire of both Sides, "That the said Hearing may be put off to some further Time, their Counsel being already retained in a Trial at the King's Bench Bar on the Day before appointed:"
It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Friday the Twenty-fourth Day of this Instant June, at Eleven a Clock.
Lynch, further Time to answer Daly's Appeal.
Upon reading the Petition of Mary Lynch, of the Kingdom of Ireland, Widow; praying, "That she may be allowed a competent Time for making her Defence to the Appeal of Denis Daly Junior and Ellin his Wife, depending in this House; the Petitioner living far distant from the City of Dublin, and is using all possible Diligence to prepare Matters for her said Defence, and is coming hither for that Purpose:"
It is Ordered, That the said Mary Lynch hath hereby Time allowed to put in her Answer to the said Appeal, till Friday the First Day of July next.
Temple's Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to empower the Barons of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland to grant a Commission to some Persons in Great Britain, to administer to Henry Temple Esquire the usual Oaths, for the due Execution of the Office of Chief Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland."
Betts Bill.
The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Estate late of William Betts Gentleman, deceased, for discharging Incumbrances thereupon; and for making good a Settlement by him made of other Part of his Estate," was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and found the Allegations thereof to be true; and the Parties concerned had given their Consents, and the Committee had made several Amendments to the Bill:"
Which were read Twice, and agreed to.
Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

Ordered, That all the Lords be summoned, to attend the Service of this House on Monday next.
