Lawrence versus Lawrence:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Giles Lawrence Gentleman, complaining of a Decree made by the present Lord High Chancellor, the Fifth of December 1715, in a Cause wherein the Appellant was Plaintiff, and Dulcibella Lawrence Widow and others Defendants; and praying, "That so much of the said Decree, as concerns the Matter of Dower of the said Dulcibella, may be reviewed and reversed:" As also upon the Answer of the said Dulcibella Lawrence put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration had of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the said Decree therein complained of be, and is hereby, affirmed: And there appearing no Direction in the said Decree, that so much of the Plaintiff's Bill as relates to the questioning the Dower of the said Dulcibella Lawrence should stand dismissed; it is hereby Ordered, That so much of the Plaintiff's said Bill as relates to that Matter be, and is hereby, ordered to stand dismissed: And it is hereby further Ordered, That the Appellant do pay, or cause to be paid, to the Respondent, the Sum of Thirty Pounds, for her Costs in respect of the said Appeal.

Highgate, &c. Highways, Bill.

Whereas Tuesday last was appointed, for the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highways from several Places therein mentioned, leading towards Highgate Gatehouse and Hampsted, in the County of Middlesex; and for electing Trustees, for keeping up a sufficient Number, for the repairing the Highways upon the Roads from Highgate Gatehouse to Barnet Blockhouse; and also of the Highways between Kilburn Bridge and Sparrows Hern, in the County of Hertford."

The House being moved, "That the same be now read:"

It is Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time To-morrow.

Sir Richard Child's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Richard Child Baronet and Dame Dorothy his Wife, and Frederick Tilney Esquire; praying, "That Leave may be given to bring in a Bill, to vest the Capital Messuage, and Part of the Premises, devised by the Will of Sir Josiah Child Baronet, deceased, and settled by the said Sir Richard, in Jointure on his said Wife, in the Petitioner Sir Richard and his Heirs, to be sold; and for settling an Estate purchased by him, to the same Uses the said Capital Messuage and other Premises were devised," stand settled:

It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of the Court of Exchequer and Mr. Baron Mountague; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Cuffe, Report of the Judges to be read.

The House being moved, "That the Report of the Judges, to whom the Petition of John Cuffe Esquire and Margaret his Wife, praying Leave to bring in a Bill for the Purposes therein mentioned, was referred, might be read:"

River Wear; and Port of Sunderland, Bill.

Ordered, That George Oldner, Henry Cottrell, and Laithwaite Barton, be, and are hereby, required to attend this House on Monday next, in order to be examined, or give Information, before the Committee of the whole House to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Preservation and Improvement of the River Wear, and Port and Haven of Sunderland, in the County of Durham," stands committed.

Cocke and his Wife, Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Daniel Cocke Gentleman and Katherine his Wife; praying, "That Leave may be given to bring in a Bill, for vesting the Lands, Feefarm Rents, and Premises, contained in a Settlement, made by the Petitioner, after their Intermarriage, in Trustees, to be sold; and to enable such Trustees to lay out Two Thousand Seven Hundred Pounds of the Money arising by such Sale, for the Purchase of an Estate in Hertfordshire, contracted for by the Petitioner Daniel, with Sir John Humble and his Wife; and to enable such Trustees, with the Remainder of the Money, to purchase other Lands nearer London, to be settled, with the said Estate contracted for, to the same Uses contained in the aforesaid Settlement:"

It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Justice Dormer and Mr. Justice Eyre; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Kennedy versus Moor.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein Richard Kennedy and Mary his Wife and others are Appellants, and Oliver Moore Esquire Respondent:"

It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Fourth Day of June next, at Eleven a Clock.
