Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to disable any Person from being chose a Member of, or from sitting and voting in, the House of Commons who has any Pension for any Number of Years from the Crown."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Thursday next; and all the Lords summoned.

Mynde, to pay his Fine into the Clerk's Hands.

Upon reading the Petition of Jomes Mynde, in Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod; setting forth, "That, for neglecting to attend the Committee for Privileges, pursuant to an Order of this House, in relation to a Complaint referred to that Committee, of his having set Counsel's Names to an Appeal, wherein William Rutter Senior and others were Appellants, and One Tyson Respondent, without the Knowledge of such Counsel, he was ordered to be taken into Custody of the said Gentleman Usher, and has been in the said Custody ever since the Seventh of May last; and, on the Twelfth of the same Month, being brought to the Bar to answer for his Offence, in putting the Counsel's Names to the said Appeal, did then, as he does now, humbly acknowledge himself guilty of the same; and was fined by this House for the said Offence, in the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to His Majesty, which he is ready to pay as their Lordships shall please to direct; and expressing his hearty Sorrow for his Offence, and promising never to offend again;" and praying, "In regard of the said Fine, and the great Expence the long Custody he has been in will occasion, with the Loss of his Business, which is his whole Support, that he may be discharged out of Custody, in order to prevent his utter Ruin:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner do cause the said Fine of One Hundred Pounds to be paid into the Hands of the Clerk of the Parliaments, in order to be estreated into the Exchequer, for the regular Payment of the same.

Message from H. C. to return the Bill to prevent Abuses in Tobacco, &c.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Chetwynd and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Mischiefs by manufacturing Leaves, or other Things, to resemble Tobacco, and the Abuses in making and mixing of Snuff;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments made thereto.

Papists to register their Estates, &c. Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider further of the Bill, intituled, "An Act to oblige Papists to register their Names and Real Estates."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Clarendon reported from the said Committee, "That they had made some further Progress in the Bill; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to sit again."

Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the said Bill, To-morrow; and that all the Lords be summoned to attend the Service of this House upon that Occasion.

Adjourn.
