L. Teynham takes his Seat.

This Day Henry Lord Teynham sat first in Parliament, after the Death of his Father Christopher Lord Teynham; and took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Bp. Bangor takes the Oaths.

Also, Benjamin Lord Bishop of Bangor took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

E. of Wintoun's Trial to be printed.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Proceedings in the Trial of George Earl of Wintoun, upon the Impeachment of High Treason exhibited against him by the House of Commons, be printed and published; and that there be prefixed to the same, an Account of the several Days or Times when the said Impeachment was brought up, when the said Earl's Answer was put in to the said Impeachment, and when the Commons replied to the said Answer; together with the several Orders, in Course of Time, preparatory to the said Earl's Trial.

Turner versus Smith & al.:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of John Turner, Rector and Vicar of the Parish Church of Coverham, in the County of York, and Diocese of Chester; complaining of a Dismission of his Bill by the Court of Exchequer, in Trinity Term last, in a Cause wherein the Appellant was Plaintiff, and William Smith, George Wray, Francis Watson, and others, were Defendants; and praying Relief and Redress therein: As also upon the Answer of the said William Smith, George Wray, and Francis Watson, put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Dismission of the Appellant's Bill therein complained of be, and is hereby, affirmed.

Counsel who signed the Appeal, to be attached.

Notice being taken, "That the said Appeal is signed by William Hancock and Nathaniel Haggatt as Counsel, who did not attend at the Bar to plead for the Appellant, nor were they concerned in the Cause in the Court of Exchequer;" and the Standing Order of this House, of the Third of March, 1697, in relation to Counsel's signing Appeals, being read:

It is Ordered, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Bodies of the said William Hancock and Nathaniel Haggatt, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for their Offence; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

Late E. of Winton's Friends, Leave to visit him.

The House being moved, "That the Friends and Relations of George late Earl of Wintoun, under Sentence of Death for High Treason, may have Liberty to visit him during his Confinement:"

It is Ordered, That the Friends and Relations of the said late Earl of Wintoun may have Access to him, at all seasonable Times; provided there be but Two at One Time admitted to him.

Haldane to enter into Recognizance for Gregory.

Upon reading the Petition of David Gregory of Kinnardy Esquire; praying, "In regard his Circumstances require his Attendance in Scotland, that Patrick Haldane Esquire may enter into a Recognizance for the Petitioner, on account of his Appeal depending in this House:"

It is Ordered, That the said Patrick Haldane may enter into a Recognizance for the Petitioner, as desired.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Bertie and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing and making more effectual an Act passed in the Twelfth Year of Her late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for repairing the Highway, or Road, from The Stone's-end, in the Parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch, in the County of Middlesex, to the furthermost Part of the Northern Road, in the Parish of Endfield, in the same County, next to the Parish of Cheshunt, in the County of Hertford;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Commissioners Accompts, Bill.

Whereas Yesterday was appointed, for the House to be in a Committee of the whole House upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to appoint a Commissioner, for taking, examining, and stating, the Debts due to the Army, in the room of Thomas Smith Esquire, deceased; and for continuing the former Act until the Tenth Day of March One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixteen:"

The House being this Day moved, "That Friday next be appointed for their Lordships to be in a Committee thereupon;" and Saturday being also proposed:

The Question was put, "Whether this House shall be put into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill, on Friday next, at Twelve a Clock?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
