PRAYERS.

Bishop of Lincoln takes the Oaths.

This Day Edmond Lord Bishop of Lincoln took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Lloyd et Ux. versus Burton.

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of John Lloyd Gentleman and Mary his Wife, complaining of a Decree made by the Master of the Rolls, the Third Day of July 1713, and the Confirmation thereof by the late Lord Chancellor, on the Fourteenth Day of November following, in certain Causes, wherein Cornelius Burton an Infant, by Sarah Burton his Mother and Prochein Amie, was Plaintiff, and the Appellants Defendants; et è contra; praying, "That the said Decree may be reversed; or that this House will direct an Issue at Law, to try whether the Writing in the Pleadings mentioned, purporting to be a Surrender, was duly executed and presented; and if so, whether the same was not recalled:" As also upon the Answer of the said Cornelius Burton and Sarah Burton put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree and Confirmation thereof, therein complained of, be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the said Appellants do pay, or cause to be paid, to the said Respondents, the Sum of Twenty Pounds, for their Costs in this House.

Rebels speedy Trial, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more easy and speedy Trial of such Persons as have levied, or shall levy, War against His Majesty."

Then, it being moved, "That the Bill be rejected;" and it being likewise proposed, "To commit the Bill:"

The Question was put, "Whether the said Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House; and that the House be put into a Committee thereupon on Tuesday next: And it is further Ordered, that the House be summoned; and that the Judges do then attend the Service of this House.

King to be attended with the Address.

The Lord Chamberlain acquainted the House, "That the Lords with White Staves had (according to Order) waited on His Majesty, humbly to know what Time His Majesty would be pleased to appoint to be attended by this House, with their Address; and that His Majesty was pleased to appoint Monday next, at Two a Clock in the Afternoon, at His Palace of St. James's."

D. Atholl's Honour and Estate, to vest in his Second Son, Bill.

The Lord Viscount Townshend presented to the House a Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Honour and Estate of John Duke of Atholl, in James Murray Esquire, commonly called Lord James Murray, after the Death of the said Duke."

And he acquainted their Lordships, "That it was with His Majesty's Approbation, in respect of the Adherence of the said James Murray to His Majesty's Interest."

Then the said Bill was read the First Time.
