Cornelisen's Nat. Bill i

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Henry Cornelisen."

The Question was put, "Wether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Orlebar and Mr. Holford:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Turner, for enlarging the Time to answer his Appeal, &c.; and Sir John Cheshire to attend.

Upon reading the Petition of John Turner, Rector and Vicar of Coverham, in the County of York; setting forth, "That, by reason of some Disappointments, he cannot serve the Order of this House on George Wray and others, to answer his Appeal, before the Fourteenth Instant; and that Sir John Cheshire refuses to be the Petitioner's Counsel, though the Order of this House for assigning him was shewed to him;" and praying, "That the said Order for answering may be enlarged till Tuesday the Sixth Day of March next; and that the said Sir John Cheshire may be ordered to obey the said Assignment, or some other Counsel, as shall seem good to this House:"

It is Ordered, That the Time for the Respondents answering the said Appeal be enlarged, until the said Sixth Day of March next; and that the said Sir John Cheshire do attend this House on Monday next, at Two a Clock, to give his Reasons why he declines being Counsel for the Petitioner, if he does decline being Counsel for him as is alledged.

Land Tax Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to His Majesty, by a Land Tax in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixteen."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Monday next; and the Lords to be summoned.

Pursell to be brought to the Bar.

Upon reading the Petition of John Pursell Gentleman, in Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, for causing Timothy Holdaway, a menial Servant to the Earl of Portland, to be arrested; "acknowledging his hearty Sorrow in incurring the Displeasure of this House, whose Pardon he most submissively begs; and hopes their Lordships will be pleased to put an End to their Displeasure against him, and, in their great Goodness, excuse him his Fees, he being uncapable at this Time to pay them; and to order him to be discharged from his Confinement:"

It is Ordered, That the Petitioner be brought to the Bar of this House on Monday next, in order to his Discharge (paying his Fees).
