DIE Martis, videlicet, 7 die Junii, post meridiem:
Message to the H.C. desiring their Attendance.
THIS Day the Lords Spiritual and Temporal being assembled in their Robes, after Prayers ended, the Commissioners, taking Notice of His Majesty's Commission for dissolving of the Parliament, left their proper Seats, went up, and did set on a Bench or Form prepared for them, and placed overthwart the House, between the Chair of Estate and the Wool-Sack, whereon the Lord Chancellor usually sitteth; and, after some small Intermission, the Gentleman Usner was commanded to signify unto the Speaker of the Lower House, That the Lords were now ready in their Robes, and do expect the Coming up of him and the Commons, to whom His Majesty's Pleasure is further to be declared, according to His Highness's Commission in that Behalf directed to certain special Lords.
Afterwards the Speaker and Commons being come into the House, and at the Bar, the Lord Chancellor declared, That it had pleased His Majesty to ordain His Parliament to be holden and begun on the 5th of April last; and now, for divers great and weighty Considerations known to His Highness, He had thought good to dissolve and finally determine the same; and that, to the same Purpose, His Majesty had been pleased to grant a Commission to certain Lords.
King's Commission read.
Hereupon the Clerk of the Parliament, going up, and kneeling before the Lord Chancellor, received the Commission from his Lordship; and, being returned to his ordinary and accustomed Place, did openly and publicly read the same; the Tenor whereof followeth: videlicet,
"JAMES R.
