Establishment of the E. of Derby's Estates.

HODIE 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Establishment and Assurance of divers the Possessions and Hereditaments of Ferdinando, late Earl of Derble.

Letters Patent.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Confirmation of all Letters Patents and Grants to be made by the King's Majesty of any Copyhold Lands or Tenements, Parcel of any His Highness's Manors.

Stewart's Naturalizations.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Naturalizing of John Steward, Esquire, Brother and Heir Apparent to Pattrick Earl of Orckney.

These Two Bills sent to the Lower House, by Sir Edward Stanhope and George Coppin.

Confirmation of a Charter to the Town of Southampton.

The Proviso on the Bill concerning the Town of Southampton was this Day read the Second Time, and thereupon re-committed to the former Committees; appointed to meet forthwith.

Horse-hides prohibited being used.

The Bill to restrain the using of any Leather made of Horse-hides, &c. was this Day returned to the House, by the Earl of Shrewsbury, the first of the Committees, with certain Amendments thought meet to be added; which Amendments were presently Twice read, and thereupon appointed to be ingrossed.

Message from the Lower House, by Mr. Attorney General and others:

To abolish Hostilities between England and Scotland.

That they have had Consideration of the Amendments and Provisions added by the Lords to the Bill of Hostile Laws, and desire to have Conference with their Lordships upon some of them, at such Time and Place as please them.

Answer, That the Lords will give present Meeting; and this Meeting being likewife assented unto by those that brought the Message (by Warrant of the House), the Meeting was presently in the Painted Chamber.

Memorandum, That whereas the Lower House of Parliament did find some Cause of Doubt, upon a Proviso which had been sent down to that House (affixed to the Bill of Hostile Laws that was begun in the said Lower House), they moved, that they might clear the said Doubt, either by Amendment, or by another Proviso, to be returned again to the Upper; of which Kind of Proceeding they affirmed they had good Precedents of former Time, in like Case.

An Act for the Confirmation of Resumption.

Instead of the Bill, intituled, An Act touching Lands taken from the Archbishoprick of Canterbury, upon the Statute Primo Eliz. (which Bill was found by the Committees unmeet to proceed), a new Bill was brought into the House, by the Lord Archbishop of Cant. the first of the said Committees, intituled, An Act for the Confirmation of Resumption.

Adjourn.
