Earl of Shrewsbury's Privilege. Billing's Arrest.

REPORT made by the Earl of Shrewsburie, That Captain Roger Billings, Servant to the Earl of Pembroke, and Lewis Evans, at whose Suit he was arrested, are agreed; whereupon Evans was called into the House, and discharged of his Attendance; and like Order taken for the Discharge of the Serjeant that arrested Billings.

Sir D. Foulis's Naturalization, &c.

The Amendments on Sir David Foulis's Bill were this Day Twice read; and the Bill, with the said Amendments, appointed to be ingrossed.

Le Gris and Cotterell.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Performance and Execution of a Decree in the Chancery, made between William Le Gris, Plaintiff, and Robert Cotterell, Defendant.

Purveyors.

The Bill for the better Execution of sundry Statutes, touching Purveyors and Cart-takers, was this Day brought into the House, by the Lord Archbishop, the first of the Committees; who made Report, That Mr. Attorney General having opened the Parts of the said Bill at large unto the Committees, they found the same in many Things inconvenient, and not fit to be further proceeded in, unless the Lords will confer again thereon with the Lower House; whereunto the Committees did incline.

Free Liberty of Trade.

The Bill for Free Trade with Spayne, Portugall, Fraunce, etc. was also brought into the House, by the Lord Chancellor, the of the Committees; who signified, That the said Bill was found by them to be so general and imperfect, as they thought the same not fit to be farther proceeded in, without the like Conference with the Lower House.

Three Bills, which had been formerly passed this House, were sent this Day to the Lower House, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke and Sir Edward Stanhope: videlicet,

River Thames to Oxford.

1. An Act for clearing the Passage, by Water, to and beyond the City of Oxford.

Desmaistre's Naturalization.

2. An Act for the Naturalizing of James Desmaistres, of the Parish of St. Buttolphes without Algate, and Marie his Wife.

Roger's Bill.

3. An Act for the Relief of John Roger, Gentleman, against Robert Tailor, Paule Tailor, and William Tailor, etc.

Swearing.

The Bill against Swearing was this Day returned to the House, by the Lord Archbishop of Cant. the first of the Committees, with certain Amendments, and a Proviso thought meet to be added.

Welsh Cottons.

The Bill concerning Walsh Cottons was brought into the House by the Lord Treasurer, the first of the Committees, with this Signification, That the Committees did desire it might have good Passage; but that his Lordship would reserve some Speech on the same till the Third Reading.

Areskin's Naturalization.

The Amendment added by the Lower House, to Sir James Areskin's Bill, was this Day Twice read.

Adjourn.
