"Cum nuper, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ ac Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, præsens hoc Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. decimo nono die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Primo, et Scotiæ Tricesimo septimo, inchoari et teneri ordinavimus: a quo die idem Parliamentum Nostrum tunc et ibidem tentum et continuatum suerat usque ad et in septimum diem Julii tunc proxime sequentem; eodemque die idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad et in instantem septimum diem Februarii prorogatum suerat, ibidem tunc tenendum et prosequendum: Sciatis tamen, certis urgentibus Causis et Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum ulterius prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, et Circumspectione, vestris plurinum considentes, de Avisamento et Consensu Concilili Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nosuos; dantes vobis, et aliquibus tribus vel pluribus vestrum, tenore præsentium, plenam Potestatem, Facultatem, et Auctoritatem, hoc instante die Jovis, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, ad et in tertium diem Octobris proxime jam futurum, usque prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum et continuandum, ibidemque tunc tenendum et prosequendum. Et ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Lord Denny introduced.

The Lord Dennye was this Day brought into the House, by the Lord Zouch and the Lord Sydney, who presented him to the Lord Chancellor; and thereupon he delivered his Writ of Summons to the Parliament, which was publickly read by the Clerk of the Parliament; and then the said Lords brought and set him in his Place, as the last Baron. The Tenor of whose Writ of Summons followeth, in these Words: videlicet,

His Writ of Summons.

"Jacobus, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Rex, Fidei Defensor, etc. Prædilecto et Fideli suo Edwardo Denney de Waltham, Chr. Salutem.

"Cum nuper, de Avisamento et Assensu Consilii Nostri, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ et Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, quoddam Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. 19 die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Primo, et Scotiæ Tricesimo septimo, teneri ordinavimus; et ibidem, cum Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus dicti Regni Nostri, Colloquium habere et Tractatum; et tunc tentum et continuatum usque ad et in septimum diem Julii tunc proxime sequentem; a quo die idem Parliamentum Nostrum ad et in septimum diem Februarii jam proxime futurum prorogatum suerat, ibidem tunc tenendum et prosequendum; vobis, sub Fide et Ligeantia quibus Nobis tenemini, firmiter injungendo mandamus, quod, consideratis dictorum Negotiorum Arduitate et Periculis imminentibus, cessante Excusatione quacunque, dicto septimo die Februarii proxime suturo, ad Parliamentum Nostrum prædictum, personaliter intersitis, Nobiscum, ac cum Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus prædictis, super dictis Negotiis tractaturi, vestrumque Consilium impensuri. Et hoc, sicut Nos et Honorem Nostrum, ac Salvationem et Defensionem Regni et Ecclesiæ prædictæ, Expeditionemque dictorum Negotiorum diligitis, nullatenus omittatis. Teste Meipso apud Westm. vicesimo septimo die Octobris, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Secundo, et Scotiæ Tricesimo octavo."

Memorandum, That the said Lord Denney was brought into the House, placed as aforesaid, and the said Writ of Summons read, before the Reading of the Commission for Prorogation of the Parliament.

Memorandum, likewise, That the Lord Viscount Mountagu, the Lord Petre, and the Lord Gerard, were present at this Prorogation; though they were none of the Commissioners.
