The Bill, intituled, An Act for the Explanation of the Statute, made in the Fifth Year of the late Queen Elizabeth's Reign, concerning Labourers, was this Day read the Third Time, with the Amendments and Proviso offered by the Committees. Sent to the Lower House, by Mr. Dr. Swale and Dr. Hone, for their Consideration of the said Amendments and Proviso.
Commissioners to treat concerning the Union.
Hodie allata est Billa a Domo Communi, presented by Sir John Stanhope, Vice-Chamberlain to His Majesty, and others; An Act authorizing certain Commissioners of the Realm of England to treat with Commissioners of Scotland, for the Weal of both Kingdoms.
Upon Delivery of this Bill, the said Sir John Stanhope did signify unto their Lordships, That, albeit it was observed in the Common House, that certain Members of that House, named Commissioners in the Bill, were not duly placed, according to their Right of Precedency, Degree, or Quality; yet, because the said House would not, in any sort, give Impediment to the speedy Passage of a Bill of so great Consequence, they have proceeded to the expediting of the same, and have so returned it to their Lordships; but, nevertheless, have caused the Clerk of that House to enter an Act, or Order, that the said misplacing of the Commissioners Names in the Bill should not be any Impeachment or Prejudice to their due and proper Places of Right and Precedency; and desired their Lordships, that the like Act, or Order, might be entered in the Journal-Book of the Higher House: Which Motion the Lords did very well approve; and returned Signification, that it should be done accordingly; and the same is performed, and by their Lordships confirmed, as appeareth by the Entry of the said Order in this Journal-Book, the 7th of this Instant June.
Berwick on Tweed.
The Bill for Consirmation of His Majesty's Charter and Letters Patents granted to the Town of Berwicke, was returned to the House, by the Lord Treasurer, the first of the Committees, with certain Amendments; which were presently Twice read, and thereupon both the Bill and the said Amendments read the Third Time; and the Bill sent to the Lower House, by Serjeant Crooke and Dr. Carew, for their Consideration of the said Amendments.
Whitby and Bridlington Harbours.
Upon a Motion of the Lord Sheffeild, the Committees on the Two Bills concerning the Harbours of Whitbie and Bridlington were appointed to meet upon Wednesday next, the 6th of June, by Two in the Afternoon, at the Little Chamber near the Parliament Presence.
