THIS Day, the Earl of Essex (having been created Earl Marshal of England the 28th of December last, before this Instant, by Her Majesty's Letters Patents) took his Place in Parliament, according to his said Office.

Population.

The Earl Marshal to be added to the Committees upon the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Encrease of People, for the Service and Defence of the Realm, who are appointed to meet this present Day, as is before recorded.

Poor.

His Lordship also added to the Committees upon the Bill, intituled, An Act for Relief of the Poor, in Times of extreme Dearth of Corn; appointed to meet at the Great Council Chamber, at the Court at Whitehall, To-morrow, by Two in the Afternoon.

Husbandry.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Maintenance of Husbandry and Tillage.

And was referred to the same Committees appointed upon the Bill for the Encrease of People, etc. and to meet at the same Time and Place.

Pawn Brokers.

The Committees upon the Bill concerning Brokers and Pawn-takers appointed to meet at the Great Council Chamber, etc. upon Friday, the 13th of this Instant, by Two in the Afternoon.

Draining Fens.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for recovering of 300000 Acres, more or less, of Wastes, Marsh, and Watery Grounds, in the Isle of Elie, and in the Counties of Cambridge, Huntingdon, Northampton, Lincolne, Norfolk, and Suffolk.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for some better Staying of Corn within this Land, to give Liberty for English Subjects sometime to buy Wheat, Rye, and Barley, and to sell the same again in the same Kind, for the better Relief of the Common Wealth.
