Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for divesting the Crown of the Remainder in Fee Simple of and in the Manor and Advowson of Stourton, in the County of Wilts, and several Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, to the same Manor belonging, expectant on certain Estates Tail; and for vesting the same in certain other Persons therein named, to the Intent the same may be barred by proper Methods in Law, for the Purposes therein mentioned."

Johnson, for a Certiorari.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert Johnson, Plaintiff in a Writ of Error depending in this House, to which Samuel Perry is Defendant; shewing, "That the Petitioner brought a Writ of Error into this House the 18th Day of May last, and hath assigned Errors thereupon, and therein alledged Diminution; and praying an Order for a Certiorari, for the returning to this House such Process as alledged:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Robert Johnson do forthwith sue out a Writ of Certiorari, in order to the Return of the said Process to this House.

Sir Hugh Paterson versus Presbytery Stirling Moderator.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Appeal depending in this House, wherein Sir Hugh Paterson and others are Appellants, and the Moderator of the Presbytery of Stirling is Respondent:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Ninth Day of this Instant June, at Eleven a Clock.

Descury & al. Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Yarmouth reported from the Lord3 Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize Simon Descury, Peter Ribot, Peter Laffitte, and others," was committed: "That they had gone through the said Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Queen's Answer to Address for a Paper.

The Lord Treasurer acquainted the House, "That the Lords with White Staves had (according to Order), presented to Her Majesty the Address of this House, That Her Majesty would be pleased to order the proper Officer to lay before this House the Rule mentioned in the Ninth Article of the Treaty of Commerce with France, for Payment of any Duties in any Provinces not particularly mentioned in the Tariff of 1664; and that Her Majesty had been pleased to give Order accordingly."

State of the Nation considered:

After reading the Order for taking into Consideration the State of the Nation:

Question for the Dissolution of the Union, &c.

The House was moved, and the Question proposed, "That Leave be given to bring in a Bill, for Dissolution of the Union; for restoring each Kingdom to their Rights and Privileges as at the Time of the Union; and for effectually securing Her Majesty in Her Royal Power and Authority over both Kingdoms; and for asserting and confirming all Her Royal Prerogatives; and effectually securing the Succession in the Protestant Line, in the Illustrious House of Hanover, as the same stands limited and secured by several Acts of Parliament in England, and by the Second Article of the Union, or any subsequent Acts made in the Parliament of Great Britain; and for establishing a strict and perpetual Amity between the Two Kingdoms."

After long Debate;

The previous Question was put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the main Question being put;

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Adjourn.
