Harrington's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable John Harrington Esquire and Dorothy his Wife, and Charles Harrington Gentleman, Son and Heir Apparent of the said John Harrington, to sell the Reversion of several Messuages and Tenements, in Liverpoole, in the County of Lancaster, being the Inheritance of the said Dorothy, for Payment of their Debts; and settling an Equivalent upon the said Dorothy."

Land-owners, &c. Petition against the Bill, for making the River Douglas navigable.

Upon reading the Petition of several Land-owners of the Meadow and Marsh Lands, lying upon or near the River Douglas, in the County of Lancaster, on Behalf of themselves and many others; praying, "That they may be heard, by their Counsel, against the Bill for making the said River navigable:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be heard, by their Counsel, against the said Bill, on Saturday the Thirtieth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven a Clock, before the Second Reading of the said Bill; as may also any other Persons that think themselves therein concerned.

Sir Bourchier Wrey's Bill.

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Judges, to whom was referred the Bill relating to Sir Bourchier Wrey:

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to sell some Out Parts of the Estate of Sir Bourchier Wrey Baronet, in the County of Devon, for the Purposes therein mentioned:"

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the same Committee to whom Harrington's Bill stands committed; to meet at the same Time and Place.

Jones versus Bennet.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Jones; shewing, "That he hath an Appeal depending in this House, from a Decree of the Court of Chancery in Ireland, whereunto Anne Bennet Widow, and Michael Harbourne, Executors of the last Will and Testament of Thomas Bennet, deceased, are Respondents; and praying, that a Day may be appointed for hearing the same:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Friday the Twelfth Day of June next, at Eleven a Clock; and that the Service of this Order upon the Respondents Agent, now in England, shall be good Service, in order thereunto.

Liverpoole, Petition for the Bill for making the River Douglas navigable.

Upon reading the Petition of the Merchants and others the Inhabitants of the Borough and Corporation of Leverpoole, in the County Palatine of Lancaster; praying, "That the Bill, for making the River Douglas, alias Asland, in the said County, navigable, may pass:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners may be heard, by their Counsel, what they have to offer for the said Bill, on Saturday the Thirtieth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven a Clock; as also may Counsel be heard for the other Petitioners on Behalf of the said Bill, at the same Time, if they think fit.

Sir, Edward Leighton's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Edward Leighton Baronet to charge his Estate with Four Thousand Pounds (preferable to Six Thousand Pounds already charged thereupon by his Marriage Settlement), for the Purposes therein mentioned."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the same Committee to whom Harrington's Bill stands committed; to meet at the same Time and Place.

Burgoyne's Bill:

Whereas, by Order of this House, of the Fifteenth Instant, the Committee appointed to consider of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting divers Lands and Hereditaments, in the Counties of Warwick and Bedford, late the Estate of Sir Roger Burgoyne Baronet, deceased, in Trustees, for divers Purposes therein mentioned," were to meet on Saturday the Thirtieth Instant:

The House being this Day moved, "That the said Committee may be allowed to meet on Thursday the Twenty-eighth Instant:"

The same was ordered accordingly.

Chamberlen's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees, several Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, lying in the Parish of Alderton, in the County of Suffolk, the Estate of Hugh Chamberlen Doctor in Physic, to be sold; and, with the Monies arising by the Sale thereof, to purchase other Lands, lying more contiguous to the City of London, to be settled to the same Uses."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the same Committee to whom Harrington's Bill stands committed; to meet at the same Time and Place.

Exports and Imports between England and France, Italy, Germany, Holland, and Portugal.

The House being informed, "That some of the Commissioners of the Customs attended;" they were called in, and delivered, at the Bar, several Papers, intituled as follows:

1. "Return of the Commissioners of the Customs, to the Right Honourable the House of Lords; pursuant to Two Orders of their Lordships, dated 19th and 20th Instant."

2. "Value of the Exports and Imports between England and France, Anno 1699."

3. "Value of the Exports and Imports between England and Germany, England and Holland, England and Portugal, and England and Italy, Anno 1699."

And the same were read.

Commissioners of Trade, a Paper delivered.

Then the Lord Guilford, from the Commissioners of Trade and Plantations, presented to the House a Paper, intituled,

"Answer of the Commissioners for Trade and Plantations, to an Order of the Right Honourable the House of Lords, of the 20th May 1713."

And the same was also read.

Commissioners Customs, more Papers.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Commissioners of the Customs do, with all convenient Speed, lay before this House such other Papers, in Pursuance of the Orders of this House of the 19th and 20th Instant, as they are able to prepare to be laid before this House.

Address for the new Barrier Treaty.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend Her Majesty, from this House, humbly to desire, "That Her Majesty will be pleased to direct, that the new Barrier Treaty, made between Her Majesty and The States General, concerning the Succession of the Crown of Great Britain, and the Barrier of The States General, may be laid before this House."

Commissioners Trade, to deliver their Report on the old Barrier Treaty.

Ordered, That the Commissioners of Trade and Plantations do, on this Day Sevennight, lay before this House their Report and Observations on the Treaty in 1709, between Her Majesty and The States General, for securing the Succession to the Crown of Great Britain, and for settling a Barrier for The States General against France.

Trade between England and France, to be considered.

Ordered, That on this Day Sevennight, at One a Clock, this House will take into Consideration, how the Trade between England and France stood at the Time of the Revolution in the Year 1688; how it stood at the making the Peace at Ryswick, and from thence to the Declaration of the late War; and how it will stand by the Treaty now made, if the same should take Place; and that the Cause appointed to be heard that Day be put off till the Monday after, and the other Causes removed in Course.
