E. Findlater takes the Oaths.

James Earl of Findlater took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Lord Willoughby Par. takes his Seat.

Edward Lord Willoughby of Parham sat first in Parliament, after the Death of his Uncle Hugh Lord Willoughby of Parham; and took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Lord Clifton takes his Seat.

Also, Edward Lord Clifton of Laighton Brumswold sat first in Parliament, after the Death of his Mother Catherine Lady Cornbury; and took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

The House was resumed.

Then the Lords Commissioners (in their Robes) being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; with the Lord Treasurer on his Right Hand; and the Lord Steward on his Left; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "That the Commissioners desire their immediate Attendance in the House of Peers, to hear the Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, by the Clerk, as follows:

Then the Lord Keeper said,

Parliament prorogued.

"My Lords, and Gentlemen of the House of Commons,

"By Virtue of Her Majesty's Commission now read, and to us and other Lords therein named directed, we do, in Her Majesty's Name, further prorogue this present Parliament to Tuesday the Third Day of February next: And this Parliament is accordingly prorogued to Tuesday the Third Day of February next."
