Chetwynd's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Walter Chetwynd Gentleman and Barbara his Wife (an Infant), and of her Mother Barbara Goring, Widow and Relict of John Goring, late of the City of Litchfield, Esquire, deceased; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for vesting the said Insant's Real Estate in Trustees, for Performance of the Marriage Articles in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer and Mr. Justice Powys; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

L. Say & Seal versus Lloyd, in Error.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Errors argued upon the Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Lawrence Lord Viscount Say and Seal is Plaintiff, and Henry Lloyd Gentleman Defendant:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued, in this Case, on Wednesday the One and Twentieth Day of this Instant May, at Eleven a Clock.

Wicks' Executor, Composition, Bill.

The Order being read, for the House to be put into a Committee, to take into Consideration the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Lord High Treasurer, or Commissioners of the Treasury of Great Britain, for the Time being, to compound with the Executor of Michael Wicks Esquire, late Receiver General of the Plantation Duties in the Port of London, as the Lord High Treasurer or Commissioners of the Treasury of England were, by a former Act of Parliament, enabled to do with the said Michael Wicks himself."

Proceedings of the Treasury and Commissioners of Customs, Report about the former Bill delivered.

The House was informed, "That a Person from the Treasury attended (according to Order) with Papers relating to the Bill."

Who, being called in, delivered them, at the Bar; and withdrew.

Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill, on Wednesday next, at One a Clock; that the Papers delivered from the Treasury be referred to the Consideration of the said Committee, and a Schedule made thereof in the mean Time; and that the Executor of Michael Wicks may be heard, by his Counsel, before the said Committee, what he hath to offer, in relation to the Matters alledged in the said Bill; as also Her Majesty's Counsel, if they think sit.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Winstanley and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease, made by Jeffery Palmer and Robert Palmer Esquires, for a further Provision for Payment of the Debts of the said Jeffery Palmer;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease made by Jeffery Palmer and Robert Palmer Esquires, for a further Provision for Payment of the Debts of the said Jeffery Palmer."

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Bill shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Justice Blencowe and Mr. Justice Tracy; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned therein; and, after hearing them, and perusing a Copy of the Bill, attested by the Clerk of the Parliaments, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands.

Gerrard discharged.

Whereas John Gerrard Bailiff, in Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, for a Breach of Privilege, in forcibly entering the Duke of Northumberland's House, attempting to arrest One of his Grace's menial Servants, within the Time of Privilege of Parliament, was this Day brought to the Bar; and, upon his Knees, reprimanded by the Lord Keeper for his said Offence:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Gerrard shall be, and is hereby, discharged (paying his Fees); and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir William Oldes Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Insolvent Debtors, Bill.

The Earl of Winchilsea reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of insolvent Debtors, by obliging their Creditors to accept the utmost Satisfaction they are capable to make, and restoring them to their Liberty," was committed; the Amendments and Clauses agreed by the Committee to be added to the said Bill.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Ordered, That the said Clauses be engrossed.
