A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Codrington and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making the River Avon, in the Counties of Somerset and Gloucester, navigable, from the City of Bath, to or near HanhamMills;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Style of the General Assembly, Petition, against Patron's Bill.
Notice being this Day taken of the Style of the Petition of the late General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, presented to this House Yesterday; and a Debate arising touching the same:
It is Ordered, That the said Debate be adjourned till Saturday next; and that, in the mean Time, the Petitioners may amend the Style of the said Petition.
May's Petition referred to Judges.
Upon reading the Petition of Charles May Esquire and Charles May Esquire; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for enabling the Sale of the Premises in the Petition mentioned, for the Purposes therein expressed:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench and Mr. Justice Tracy; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands; and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.
Bankrupts Bill.
The Lord Howard of Escrick (according to Order) reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repealing a Clause in the Statute made in the Twenty-first Year of the Reign of King James the First, intituled, An Act for the further Description of a Bankrupt, and Relief of Creditors against such as shall become Bankrupts; and for inflicting Corporal Punishment upon the Bankrupts, in some special Cases, which makes Descriptions of Bankrupts; and for the Explanation of the Laws relating to Bankruptcy in case of Partnership," was committed; the Amendments made by the Committee to the said Bill.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to.
Forbes versus Forbes.
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition of Appeal of William Forbes, of Tolquhon, Esquire, complaining of a Sentence or Decree pronounced by the Lords of Council and Session in Scotland, whereunto Alexand'r Forbes, of Ballogie, Esquire, is Respondent:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel for the said Respondent To-morrow, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon.
Henley's Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to cut and sell Timber on the Estate late of Anthony Henley Esquire, deceased; and for applying the Money thereby arising towards Payment of his Younger Children's Portions, provided for by his Marriage Settlement; and also for transferring certain Estates, by the same Settlement now vested in Richard Norton Esquire, to other Trustees, on the same Trusts."
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet),
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Friday the Twenty-fifth Day of this Instant April, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming to Agmondisham Vesey Esquire and his Children the Benefit intended them by an Act passed in the First Year of Her Majesty's Reign, for their Relief; and for discharging him and them of the Rents and Profits of their Estate, incurred before the passing of the said Act."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Saturday next.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Manor of Dalham, and other Manors and Hereditaments, in the County of Suffolk and elsewhere, late the Estate of Symon Patrick Clerk, deceased, for the several Purposes therein mentioned."
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords Committees to whom Mr. Henley's Bill stands committed; to meet at the same Time and Place.
