African Company versus Attorney General, in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of the Royal African Company of England; praying, "That the Time appointed for hearing the Errors argued, upon the Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein the Petitioners are Plaintiffs, and Her Majesty's Attorney General is Defendant, may be put off for a Month:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition be rejected.

Georges versus Pye:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Henry Gorges Esquire and Robert Gorges, an Infant, by the said Henry Gorges his Father and Guardian, from an Order and Decree of the Court of Chancery, made the Sixth Day of November, and Sixteenth Day of December, in the Ninth Year of Her Majesty's Reign, on the Behalf of Charles Pye Esquire; praying the same may be reversed: As also upon the Answer of the said Charles Pye put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of the said Henry Gorges and Robert Gorges shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the said Henry Gorges shall pay, or cause to be paid, to the said Charles Pye, the Sum of Forty Pounds, for his Costs.

Grevile's Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Honourable Algernon Grevile Esquire to make a Settlement of his Estates, in the several Counties of York and Warwick, pursuant to Agreements made by him on his Marriage with the Honourable Mary Somerset his now Wife."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Western's Pet. referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Peter Gott, of Stanmer, in the County of Sussex, Esquire, Robert Western, of London, Merchant, and William Western Esquire, the only Son and Heir of Samuel Western Esquire, deceased; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to enable the said William Western, notwithstanding his Infancy, to make a Marriage Settlement of his Estate, with the Consent and Approbation of Trustees:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Queen's Bench and Mr. Justice Tracy; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Smith versus Blow & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Smith Clerk, from an Order of the Court of Chancery, made the Tenth Day of this Instant March, in a Cause wherein the Petitioner was Plaintiff, and Grace Blow Widow, Martin Brown Esquire, John Robinson, and Henry Boulton, Defendants; praying the Reversal of the said Order:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Grace Blow, Martin Brown, John Robinson, and Henry Boulton, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Eighteenth Day of April next, at Eleven a Clock.
