This Day William Lord Stawell took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Thanks to the Bp. of Exeter, for his Sermon.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Thanks of this House be, and are hereby, given to the Lord Bishop of Exeter, for his Sermon preached before this House Yesterday, in the Abbey Church at Westminster; and he is desired to print and publish the same.

Calculation of Votes for the Sixteen Peers of Scotland:

The Lord Mohun reported from the Lords Committees, to whom it was referred to make a Calculation of the Number of Votes of the Peers who voted at the Election of the Sixteen Peers for Scotland, as they stand according to the several Resolutions of the House relating to the said Election, "That they had made a "Calculation accordingly."

Which, being read, was agreed to by the House, and is as follows; (videlicet,)

Clerk of the Crown to amend the Return of Peers from Scotland:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery do attend this House on Thursday next, at Eleven a Clock, with the original Return of the Names of the Sixteen Peers, who, according to the late Act in that Case made and provided, are chosen, summoned, and certified, to be Members of the House of Lords, for and on Behalf of that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, in order to amend the said Return, pursuant to the Report made this Day from the Lords Committees, and agreed to by the House.

Clerks of Session in Scotland, Attendance discharged.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir James Dalrimple Baronet and John Makensey Esquire, Clerks of the Session in Scotland, and Clerks to the late Election of Peers there, who came from Scotland, shall be, and they are hereby, discharged from any further Attendance in this House.

Rosset & al. Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Dorsett and Middl'x reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Lewis de Rosset, Peter Brozet, and others," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Woolmere & al. versus Markes:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Charles Woolmere and John Simpson Gentlemen, brought into this House the Third of March One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seven, the only Two Defendants brought to Hearing, in the Cause wherein Richard Marks was Plaintiff, from a Decree pronounced in Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer, on Friday the Thirteenth Day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seven; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree: As also upon the Answer of the said Richard Marks put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is this Day Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Charles Woolmere and John Simpson shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the Appellants Charles Woolmere and John Simpson do pay, or cause to be paid, unto the Respondent Richard Marks, the Sum of Twenty Pounds, for his Costs.

Adjourn.
