Lords take the Oaths.

This Day Thomas Duke of Leeds and John Lord Hervey took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Marq. of Annandale & al. Petition:

The Order of the Day being read, for the House to take into Consideration the Petition of William Marquis of Annandale, John Earl of Sutherland, Patrick Earl of Marchmont, and William Lord Rosse;

E. of Sutherland's Petition.

A Petition of John Earl of Sutherland, signed by him, was offered to the House, and read.

After Debate;

The Order following was made:

"After reading this Day, and considering, the Petitions and Representation of William Marquis of Annandale, John Earl of Sutherland, Patrick Earl of Marchmont, and William Lord Ross: It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, if any Lord shall think himself concerned to petition this House, in relation to the late Election of Sixteen Peers of Scotland to fit in this House, such Lord hath hereby Time allowed him for so doing, until the Sixteenth Day of December next."

Ordered, That the Clerk do issue out Orders for Witnesses, as is usual.
