Plymouth Workhouse Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for erecting a Workhouse in the Town and Borough of Plimouth, in the County of Devon; and for setting the Poor on Work, and maintaining them there."
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Ordered, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.
Worts versus Perne:
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of William Worts Gentleman, surviving Executor of his late Father Wm. Worts, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery the Second Day of May last, and the Affirmation thereof, on a Re-hearing, the Seven and Twentieth of October last, on the Behalf of John Perne Esquire; as also upon the Answer of John Perne put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of William Worts shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.
Church Statutes, Bill.
Whereas this Day was appointed for the House to be put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the avoiding of Doubts and Questions touching the Statutes of divers Cathedral and Collegiate Churches:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill, on Thursday the Nineteenth Day of this Instant February, at Twelve a Clock; and nothing to intervene; and that all the Judges do then attend, and the Lords summoned.
Minshall's Pet. referred to Judges.
Upon reading the Petition of Richard Minshull, of Birton, in the County of Bucks, Esquire; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for vesting so much of the Premises (in the Petition mentioned) as are not limited in Jointure in Trustees, by Sale or Mortgage, to raise Monies, for the Purposes in the Petition also set forth; and to convey the Residue to such Uses as the Petitioner, with the Consent of the said Catherine and the said Trustees, and the Survivors and Survivor of them, shall think fit:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Justice of Her Majesty's Court of Queen's Bench and Mr. Justice Powell; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned in the Bill, and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also, that the Judges; having perused the Bill, do sign the same.
Warner & al. to amend Appeal.
Upon reading the Petition of Anne Warner Widow, Anne Warner Spinster, Elizabeth Warner, Mary Warner, and Edmund Warner; praying Leave to add the Names of Anne Prideaux and Andrew Stace in the Prayer of their Appeal brought into this House the Twentieth of December last:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave to add the said Names in the Prayer of their said Appeal, as desired.
E. of Exeter's Bill:
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for settling the Estate of John now Earl of Exeter, pursuant to Agreements made on the Marriage of the same Earl with Elizabeth Countess of Exeter, his now Wife, subject to such Alterations as are mentioned herein."
