Lords take the Oaths.

This Day Thomas Earl of Sussex, John Lord Bishop of Bristol, and John Lord Lovelace, took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Chute's Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate late of Thomas Chute Esquire, in the County of Warwick; and laying out the Monies arising thereby in the Purchase of other Lands and Hereditaments, in the County of Norfolk, to be settled to the same Uses as the Warwickshire Estate stands settled."

Sir Str. Master versus Willughby & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir Streynsham Master Knight, from several Orders or Decrees made in the Court of Chancery, in Hillary Term One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, in January One Thousand Seven Hundred, and of Trinity Term One Thousand Seven Hundred and Four, on the Behalf of George Willughby and Joanna his Wife; and praying the Reversal of the said Order, Decree, and Dismission:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said George Willughby and Joanna his Wife may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Monday the Tenth Day of December next, at Eleven a Clock in the Forenoon.

Preservation of the Queen's Person, and the Protestant Succession.

The Order of the Day being read, the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider what may be fitting to be done, for the Preservation of Her Majesty's Person and Government, and the Protestant Succession as by Law established.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Stamford reported, "That it is the Opinion of the Committee, That, in case Her Majesty (whom God long preserve) should demise without Issue, the Privy Council do cause the next Protestant Successor, as by Law established, to be proclaimed in England and Ireland, upon Pain of High Treason; and that if the said Protestant Successor should be then out of England, that there be a Commission of Lords Justices to act in the Administration of the Government, in the Name of the Successor, until such Successor shall arrive, or send Orders to the contrary."

Which, being read, was agreed to.

It is Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, in case Her Majesty (whom God long preserve) should demise without Issue, the Privy Council do cause the next Protestant Successor, as by Law established, to be proclaimed in England and Ireland, upon Pain of High Treason; and that if the said Protestant Successor should be then out of England, that there be a Commission of Lords Justices, to act in the Administration of the Government, in the Name of the Successor, until such Successor shall arrive, or send Orders to the contrary.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee again, to consider farther what may be fitting to be done, for the Preservation of Her Majesty's Person and Government, and the Protestant Succession as by Law established.
