The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Justice Powys and Mr. Justice Dormer:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Land Tax Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to Her Majesty, by a Land Tax, to be raised in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seven."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing the Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder, and Perry, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seven."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House. To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.

Vanhoeven versus Giesque.

Upon reading the Petition of Isaac Vanhoeven Merchant; shewing, "That, the Thirteenth Day of November One Thousand Seven Hundred and Five, he brought his Appeal into this House, to which Mathias Giesque put in his Answer the Four and Twentieth of November following; that soon after Giesque died, whereby the Appeal abated, and the Petitioner cited Joane Giesque his Widow into the Spiritual Court, to compel her to take out Administration to her Husband's Estate, which was not done till after the End of the last Session of Parliament;" and praying, "That the said Joane Giesque may answer the said Appeal within some short Time; and that the Proceedings thereon may stand revived against her:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Joane Giesque may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and put in her Answer thereunto on or before the Third Day of January next, if the think fit; and that, upon her answering at the Time aforesaid, or not answering, the Appeal shall stand revived, whereof the Petitioner is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Joane Glesque.

Witnesses to Private Bills to be sworn at the Bar, Standing Order.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Order of this House of the Eighteenth Instant, relating to the swearing of Witnesses, in order to examine them before the Judges, shall be, and is hereby declared to be, a Standing Order, and entered on the Roll.
