The Earl of Stamford reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees the Estate late of Sir Thomas Worsopp Knight, and Thomas Worsopp Esquire his Son, deceased, in Finsbury Fields, or Moor Fields, in the Parish of Shoreditch, in the County of Middl'x, to be sold, for the Payment of Debts and Legacies; and, with the Overplus of the Money remaining, to be laid out, for the purchasing of Messuages, Lands, Tenements, or Hereditaments of Inheritance, in the Kingdom of Ireland, to be settled as in the Act is particularly mentioned," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Girardot & al. Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Stamford also reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize Andrew Girardot, alias Devermenoux, Francis Buzelin, and others," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Cadogan & al. Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Stamford also reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to naturalize Margarita Cecilia Cadogan, Wife of Brigadier General Cadogan, and Gilbert Affleck," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making the River Stower navigable, from the Town of Manningtree, in the County of Essex, to the Town of Sudbury, in the County of Suffolke;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Stevenson versus Frewen:

After hearing Counsel upon the Petition and Appeal of Samuel Stevenson Esquire and Frances his Wife, Sister and Heir, and also Executrix, of Matthew Scott, Son and Heir of Humphrey Scott, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Sixteenth Day of April, in the Second Year of Her present Majesty's Reign, on the Behalf of John Frewen, Executor of Thomas Frewen Esquire, Executor of George Scott, and Henry Champian Esquire, Executor of William Champion Esquire, deceased; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree: As also upon the Answer of the said John Frewen put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is ORDERED, and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Samuel Stevenson and Frances his Wife shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for giving like Remedy upon Promissory Notes as is now used upon Bills of Exchange, and for the better Payment of Inland Bills of Exchange:"

Abuses of Collectors to prevent, Bill.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for remedying Abuses of Collectors of several public Taxes; and for the issuing out Process (in case of Deficiencies upon the Land Tax for the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Five), only against such Places where the Deficiencies shall happen; and for relieving the Division of Kesteven, in the County of Lincoln, against the Deficiency charged thereupon for the Year One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight; and for examining the Accompts of the Receivers and Collectors of the County of Devon and City of Exon," shall be read the First Time To-morrow, at One a Clock.
