Gresham College Improvement, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of the Mayor, Commonalty, and Citizens of the City of London, the Wardens and Commonalty of the Mystery of the Mercers of the said City of London, and the Lecturers of GreshamColledge in the said City; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to empower the said City and Company to pull down the present Building called Gresham-Colledge, and to make such Building as is agreed upon more convenient, and to make the best Improvement they can of the remaining Ground, for the Benefit of the said Corporations, and their Successors, the better to enable them to maintain the Uses appointed by Sir Thomas Gresham's Will:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave given them to bring in a Bill, as desired.

Jarman, Leave for a Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of William Jarman, of Little Gaddesden, in the County of Hertford, Gentleman, and Mary his Wife; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the vesting Nine Messuages, in St. Gyles's in the Fields, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling a Messuage and Farm, in Whipsnade, in the County of Bedford, in Lieu thereof.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave given them to bring in a Bill, as desired.

E. Rochester's Privilege: Townshend attached, for entering upon his Estate.

Upon Oath made, at the Bar of this House, "That William Townshend hath entered on and taken Possession of an Estate of the Right Honourable Lawrence Earl of Rochester, a Peer of this Realm, in Witney, in the County of Oxford, within the Time of Privilege of Parliament, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament (no Suit having been commenced for, or relating thereunto):"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said William Townshend, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for his Offence; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sarles Goatley Esquire, Serjeant at Arms attending this House; his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them; and to all Mayors, Sheriffs, Bailiffs, Constables, and other Officers, to be aiding and assisting in the Execution hereof.

Sir James Collet versus Spencer.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir James Collet Knight, and John Conold Clerk, Respondents to the Petition and Appeal of Edward Spencer and Robert Sprakling, Gentlemen; shewing, "That the Appellants brought their Appeal into this House the Ninth of November last; to which the Petitioners put in their Answer the Five and Twentieth; and the Appellants having brought their Appeal for Delay; and praying a short Day may be appointed for hearing the said Cause:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Thursday the Sixteenth Day of this Instant December, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon.
