This Day Charles Earl of Winchilsea and William Lord Paget took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

This Day John Marquis of Normanby, being, by Letters Patents, dated the Four and Twentieth Day of March One Thousand Seven Hundred and Two, created Duke of the County of Buckingham and Normanby, was, in his Robes, introduced between Charles Duke of Richmond and James Duke of Ormond (also in their Robes), and preceded by the Lord Great Chamberlain, the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, and Sir Henry St. George Clarenceux, officiating in this Ceremony as Garter King of Arms; his Grace presented his Patent to the Lord Keeper, on his Knee, at the Woolsack, who delivered it to the Clerk: And being read at the Table, as also his Writ of Summons, dat. Vicesimo Aprilis, Secundo Annæ Reginæ; his Grace took his Place accordingly.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners, in their Robes, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; the Lord Privy Seal, the Lord Great Chamberlain, and the Earl of Nottingham, on his Right Hand; the Earl of Bradford, the Lord Dartmouth, and the Lord Granville, on his Left Hand; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to go to the House of Commons, and let them know, "That the Commissioners desire they would be present, to hear the said Commission read."
