Hack & al. Nat. Bill.

The Lord Viscount Longueville reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Daniel Hack, Charles Johan Bruce, and others," as fit to pass, with several Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Malted Corn, &c. to encourage the Consumption of, &c. Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the encouraging the Consumption of Malted Corn; and for the preventing the Running of French and Foreign Brandy."

Persons sworn, to be examined at the Committee for the Journals of the D. of Ormond and the Flag Officers.

The Duke of Bolton reported from the Lords Committees appointed to inspect the Duke of Ormond's and Flag Officers Journals, "That it is the Desire of the Committee, that Sir Thomas Hopson, Sir Stafford Fairborne, Colonel Earle, Lewis Petcet, Isaac Francis Petcet, Captain John Cowe, and Mr. Bourger, may attend their Lordships To-morrow; and that, in the mean Time, they may be sworn at the Bar, in order to their Examination before the Committee."

To which the House agreed.

Then Sir Stafford Fairborne, Lewis Peteet, Isaac Francis Peteet, and Captain John Cowe, were called in, and sworn.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Colonel Erle and Mr. Albert Bourger do immediately attend this House, to be sworn, in order to be examined before the said Committee.

Public Accompts, to take, &c. Bill.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for taking, examining, and stating, the Public Accompts of the Kingdom."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Viscount Longueville reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, with the Addition of a Clause at the End of the Bill."

Which, being read Twice, was agreed to, and ordered to be added to the End of the Bill.

Messages from H. C. to return Loane's Bill; Caldecott's Bill; and Ravenscroft's Bill, for Exchange of Lands in Brampton.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Bertie and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better Execution of the Will of John Loane Esquire deceased; and for Sale of Part of his Estate, to pay his Debts and Legacies, for preserving the Residue thereof;" and to acquaint their Lordships, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Moncton and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for raising One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds, by Mortgage of Lands, in the County of Dorset, for Payment of Debts, and for a further Provision and Maintenance for the Younger Children of Philip Caldecot Esquire;" and to acquaint their Lordships, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir George Beaumont and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act concerning the Exchange of certain Lands, lying in or near Brampton, in the County of Northampton, for Lands lying in or near Wickham, in the County of Lincoln;" and to acquaint their Lordships, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

Commissioners of Accompts Observations.

The Order being read, for taking into Consideration the Book of Accompts:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Queen's Remembrancer do immediately bring to this House the Imprest Rolls transmitted to him since November One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-nine.

Then the Title of the Book of Accompts was read, and the Commissioners Observations thereupon.

After which, it was proposed, "To read the Observations upon the Accompts, Paragraph by Paragraph."

And the First Paragraph being read;

The Lord Halifax was heard thereto.

Commissioners Accompts, further Observations delivered.

Then, the House being informed, "That Mr. Gregory King attended at the Door, from the Commissioners of Accompts, as ordered Yesterday;" he was called in; and, at the Bar, delivered the Commissioners of Accompts further Observations.

Then the Observations delivered this Day were read.

The Queen's Remembrancer, attending, was called in; and delivered the Imprest Rolls transmitted to him since One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-nine, as ordered.

The House being moved, "To appoint a Committee, to consider of the Observations from the Commissioners of Accompts:"

Committee to consider of them.

Lords Committees were appointed, to consider of the Observations in the Book of Accompts, delivered into this House the Fifteenth Day of January last, and this Day; whose Lordships, having considered thereof, and heard such Persons concerning the same as they shall think fit, are afterwards to report their Opinions thereupon to this House.

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Putting Questions in the House, Method of.

ORDERED, That the Lords Committees for Privileges (who are to consider the Methods of putting Questions, and determining them in the House) do meet on Saturday next.

Remembrancer to attend, with Imprest Rolls.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Queen's Remembrancer do bring to the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Observations delivered by the Commissioners of Accompts, To-morrow, at Ten a Clock, the Imprest Rolls transmitted to him since the Twentieth of April One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-seven.

Commissioners of Accompts to have Notice of Committee meeting.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Commissioners for Public Accompts have Notice, "That this House hath appointed a Committee, to consider of the Observations delivered into this House by them, To-morrow, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers."

L. Wharton versus Squire.

Whereas there is a Petition and Appeal of the Right Honourable Thomas Lord Wharton depending in this House, to which Robert Squire Esquire is Respondent, who this Day put in his Answer thereunto:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Ninth Day of this Instant February, at Eleven a Clock, the First Business.
