Attorney General et al. versus Mayor et al. of the City of Coventry.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing of the Cause wherein Her Majesty's Attorney General, on the Behalf of the Inhabitants of the City of Coventry, and the Boroughs of Northampton, Leicester, Nottingham, and Warwick, are Appellants, against the Mayor, Bailiffs, and Commonalty of the City of Coventry, Respondents; and that the Respondents do produce all Books, Papers, and Writings, which were produced at the Hearing of the Cause in Chancery, Four Days before the Day of Hearing, that the Appellants may inspect the said Books, Papers, and Writings:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Thursday the Fourth Day of February next, at Eleven a Clock: And it is further ORDERED, That the Respondents shall produce all such Books, Papers, and Writings, as were produced at the Hearing of the Cause in Chancery, on Monday the First Day of February next, that the Appellants may have Liberty to inspect the same.

Act of Settlement, Bill to explain a Clause in, concerning Persons created Peers, who were born Abroad:

The Order (for the Third Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act to explain a Clause in an Act made in the Twelfth Year of His late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject,") being read.

It was proposed, and agreed, "To hear the Judges, to this Point; (videlicet,)

"Whether such Persons as were born out of England, as were Peers before the Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject, were comprised in the Disabilities contained in that Act?"

Judges heard.

And the Judges were accordingly heard.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to explain a Clause in an Act, made in the Twelfth Year of His late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject."
