E. Thanet takes the Oaths.
This Day Thomas Earl of Thanet took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
Cowper's Bill.
The Earl of Manchester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the vesting of the several Manors, Messuages, Lands, and Here ditaments, in the County of Essex, late belonging to John Cowper Gentleman, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for better Payment of his Debts and Legacies charged thereon," as fit to pass, with several Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
Ireland's Divorce Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to dissolve the Marriage between Coursey Ireland Gentleman, and Anne Ireland, alias Trundall, his Wife."
Sherard versus Harcourt:
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Brownlow Sherard Esquire, and Dame Mary his Wife, who was Relict, Devisee, and Executrix, of Sir Richard Anderson Baronet deceased, from several Decrees and Orders of the Court of Chancery, made the Sixteenth of May One Thousand Seven Hundred, the One and Thirtieth of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and One, the Four and Twentieth of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Two, and the One and Thirtieth of October last, and the Proceedings thereupon, on the Behalf of Symon Harcourt Esquire, and Henry and Richard Harcourt his Sons; and praying the Reversal of the said Decrees and Orders; as also Counsel for the said Symon Harcourt and his Sons; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Brownlow Sherard and Dame Mary his Wife shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decrees, Orders, and Proceedings of the Court of Chancery, therein complained of, shall be, and they are hereby, affirmed.
Adjourn.
