Fletcher versus Chapman:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of William Fletcher and Jane his Wife, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Sixteenth Day of June One Thousand Six Hundred and Ninity-nine, in a Cause wherein Thomas Chapman Esquire, Roger Chapman Infant, by the aforesaid Thomas his Father and next Friend, by Bill of Review, were Plaintiffs, against the said William Fletcher and his Wife, Thomas Newton, and George Cockquerel, Defendants; and praying Relief therein; as also upon the Answer of the said Thomas Chapman and Roger Chapman put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Appeal of William Fletcher and Jane his Wife shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the said William Fletcher shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the Respondents Thomas Chapman and Roger Chapman, the Sum of Ten Pounds, for their Costs.

Gresham College, Improvement of Bill for.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better enabling the Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London, and the Wardens and Commonalty of the Mystery of the Mercers of the said City, to pay the Charities given by the last Will and Testament of Sir Thomas Gresham."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House; who are to sit on the First free Day after Christmas next: And it is further ORDERED, That on that Day all the Lecturers of Gresham Colledge do attend; and that the Mayor, Commonalty, and Citizens of London, and the Wardens and Commonalty of the Mystery of Mercers of London, do give Order, and take Care, that the Books of the said City, and the Books of the said Mystery of Mercers, be laid before this House, which relate to the Matters contained in the Bill, and the Charity of Gresham Colledge, on the Day the House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

Witnesses to attend upon Hoare's Petition about Abuses in victualling the Navy.

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Wednesday next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Samuel Brown, Captain John Edwards, Captain Newman Commander of The Three Pilgrims Victualler, and Stephen Newman, shall and they are hereby required to attend, at the Bar of this House, to be sworn, to give their Evidence before the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Petition of Charles, James, and Richard Hoare, in relation to several Abuses in the Victualing of Her Majesty's Navy; and that they attend the Lords Committees on Wednesday next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers.
