This Day the Lords following took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes; (videlicet,)

Hindmarsh versus Everard.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Richard Hindmarsh and Margaret his Wife, from a Decree made in Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer Chamber, the Seven and Twentieth Day of June in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of our late Sovereign Lord William the Third, and several Reports and Orders made thereupon, in a Cause wherein Mary Everard the Mother, and Mary Everard the Daughter by her said Mother her Guardian, the now Respondents, were Complainants, and the Petitioners and others Defendants; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree, Reports, and Orders:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Mary Everard the Mother, and Mary the Daughter, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Wednesday the Eighteenth Day of this Instant November, at Eleven a Clock in the Forenoon.

Public Thanksgiving for the Success of Her Majesty's Arms:

The Lord Chamberlain (by Her Majesty's Command) acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had appointed Thursday the Twelfth Instant, to be observed in London and Westminster, as a Day of Public Thanksgiving to Almighty GOD, on Occasion of the great Successes of Her Majesty's Arms and those of Her Allies; and particularly that of Her Troops under the Conduct of the Earl of Marlborough; that of the Forces under the Command of the Duke of Ormonde at Vigo; and also for the extraordinary Success of the Fleet under the Command of Sir George Rooke: And, for the greater Solemnity on that Day, Her Majesty will be pleased to go to St. Paul's Church, as has been accustomed in former Times in this Kingdom, to return Thanks to Almighty GOD, for the signal and great Success, in which, not only Her Majesty, but all Her Subjects, are so highly concerned;"

House to attend the Queen to St. Paul's:

Whereupon it was ORDERED, That this House do attend Her Majesty to St. Paul's Church, on Thursday the Twelfth Instant, being the Day appointed for a Public Thanksgiving.

Surveyor General to provide Places there.

Then Sir Christopher Wren, Her Majesty's Surveyor of the Works, attending (by Her Majesty's Command) was called in; and ordered, that convenient Places be provided in St. Paul's Church, on the Day of Thanksgiving, for Eighty Lords, not to be mixed with others; and that he attend this House on Friday next, to give an Account of what he hath done in order thereunto.
