E. Sunderland takes his Seat.
This Day Charles Earl of Sunderland sat first in Parliament, upon the Death of his Father Robert Earl of Sunderland; and took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, and the Oath of Abjuration, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.
Queen to be attended.
The Lord Chamberlain acquainted the House, "That he had attended Her Majesty, as ordered, humbly to know Her Majesty's Pleasure, when She would be attended by this House with their Address; and that Her Majesty was pleased to appoint this Afternoon, at Five a Clock, at St. James's."
Sharpe versus Thomas et al.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Sharpe Esquire, from Two several Orders of the Court of Chancery, the One made the Sixteenth Day of December in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of King William the Third, and the other the Second Day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred, on the Behalf of Daniel Thomas and Benjamin White; and praying, "That they may answer thereunto, and all Proceedings in the mean Time stayed:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Daniel Thomas and Benjamin White may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Sixth Day of November next, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon; and that, in the mean Time, all Proceedings in the Courts below be stayed.
