DIE Jovis, Vicesimo Die Augusti, 1702, Anno Regni Serenissimæ Dominæ Reginæ Annæ, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, et Hib'niæ, Fidei Defensoris, &c. Primo in Superiori Domo Parliamenti apud Westmonaster. convenere Domini.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Writ, under the Great Seal, for proroguing the Parliament."

Which was read, by the Clerk, as follows; (videlicet,)

Writ for proroguing the Parliament.

"ANNA, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, et Hib'niæ Regina, Fidei Defensor, &c. Prædilectis et Fidelibus Nostris Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus Regni Nostri Angliæ, ac Dilectis et Fidelibus Nostris Militibus, Civibus, et Burgensibus dicti Regni Nostri, ad Parliamentum Nostrum apud Civitat. Nostram Westm. Vicesimo Die instantis Mensis Augusti inchoand. et tenend. convocatis et electis, et vestrum cuilibet, Salutem. Cum Nos, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem dicti Regni Nostri Angl. et Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, dictum Parliamentum Nostrum ad Diem et Locum prædict. teneri ordinavimus; ac vobis, per separalia Brevia Nostra, apud Civitat. et Diem prædict. interesse mandavimus, ad tractand. consentiend. et concludend. super iis quæ in dicto Parliamento Nostro tunc et ibidem proponerentur et tractarentur: Quibusdam tamen certis de Causis et Considerationibus Nos ad præsens specialiter moventibus, dictum Parliamentum Nostrum usque Octavum Diem Octobris prox. futur. duximus prorogand. ita quod nec vos, nec aliquis vestrum, ad dictum Vicesimum Diem Augusti, apud Civitatem prædict. comparere teneamini seu arctemini; volumus enim vos et quemlibet vestrum, inde erga Nos penitus exonerari; mandantes, et, Tenore Præsentium, sirmiter injungend. præcipientes vobis, et cuilibet vestrum, ac omnibus aliis quibus in hac Parte intersit, quod ad dictum Octavum Diem Octobris, apud præd. Civitatem Westm. personaliter compareatis et intersitis, et quilibet vestrum compareat et intersit, ad tractand. faciend. agend. et concludend. super iis quæ in dicto Parliamento Nostro de Communi Concilio dicti Regni Nostri (favente Deo) contigerint ordinari.
