Sir Ralph Hare's Bill.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better enabling Sir Ralph Hare Baronet to make a Jointure, and settle his Estate, and raise Portions and Maintenances for his Younger Children;" as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed with the said Amendments.

Twyford versus Hilliard.

Upon reading the Petition of William Hilliard Esquire and his Wife, Respondents to the Appeal of James Twyford and others; shewing, "That, pursuant to the Decree in this Cause, certain Deeds and Writings have been left with Mr. Keck One of the Masters in Chancery, which the Petitioners are advised are necessary to be produced at the Hearing of the Appeal in this House; and praying, that the said Deeds and Writings may be produced at the Hearing:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Writings, now in the Custody of Mr. Keck, shall be produced, at the Hearing of this Cause in this House, on Friday the Eight and Twentieth Day of this Instant March, at Eleven of the Clock.

Report, concerning the Libel, reflecting on the Proceedings of the Chancery, in Bertie's Cause against L. Falkland:

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of a Paper read in this House, intituled, "An Abstract or State of the Matter of Fact in Mr. Bertie's Case, for the Estate of John Cary Esquire, in Right of Elizabeth his Wife, Niece and sole Heir of the said John Cary, with some Remarks on the Judgement given therein:" That John Leake the Printer was at the Committee; and owned he printed the Paper, and that Mr. Robert Bertie a Member of the House of Commons employed him to print it, and that he printed Two Editions; and after he had printed it, he left it with the Porter at Lindsey House."

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Lord Chief Baron and Mr. Justice Nevill:

To acquaint them, that whereas a scandalous Paper, reflecting on the Lord Chancellor and his Proceedings in the Court of Chancery, hath been complained of, and read in this House; of which their Lordships are informed, upon Oath made, "That Mr. Robert Bertie, a Member of their House, can give some Account;" their Lordships desire, that for that Purpose they will give Leave for him to appear before their Lordships.

Bertie versus L. Falkland:

Whereas this Day being appointed for the Decree complained of in the Petition of Mr. Bertie and his Wife to be brought before this House, in order to be altered according to the Resolution of this House:

Judges to draw Judgement.

It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Chief Baron of His Majesty's Court of Exchequer and Mr. Justice Nevill do prepare a Draught of the said Judgement, and present the same to this House on Monday next.
