Cock's Bill.
Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the vesting and settling Part of the Estate of William Cock, of Dutchland, in the County of Bucks, Gentleman, in and upon Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of his Debts."
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Message to H. C. with it.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Pitt:
To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
Coining, to prevent the making Puncheons, Stamps, &c. for, Bill.
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Judges now present do forthwith prepare, and bring in, a Bill, making it Capital to make Puncheons, Stamps, or Dies, for Coining, unless licensed or ordered so to do by the Commissioners of the Treasury, or proper Officers of the Mint; and also to make better Provision for preventing the counterfeiting the Coin of this Kingdom, upon the Debate of this House; and that they send for, and advise with, the Officers of the Mint, in relation thereunto.
Bill to prohibit India Silks, &c. Lords there to their Amendments to it.
The House taking into Consideration the Report made the Fifth Instant, of the Conference with the Commons, upon the Subject-matter of the Amendments made by the Lords to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to restrain the wearing of all Wrought Silks and Bengalls imported into this Kingdom from Persia and East India, and all Callicoes printed or stained there."
And after Debate thereupon,
The Question was put, "Whether this House shall insist upon their First Amendment?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Then the other Amendments being read, and debated;
The House agreed to insist thereon.
And afterwards the Committee following was named; (videlicet,)
Lords Committees appointed to draw Reasons, to be given at a Conference with the House of Commons, for the Lords insisting on their Amendments made to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to restrain the wearing of all Wrought Silks and Bengalls imported into this Kingdom from Persia and East India, and all Callicoes printed or stained there;" and report to the House.
Their Lordships, or any Three of them; to meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Neve's Act, to supply a Defect in, Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to supply a Defect in an Act for enabling Oliver Neve Esquire to sell Two Houses in London; and for settling Lands in the County of Norfolke, of greater Value, to the same Uses."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)
