PRAYERS.

Ravenscroft and Herbert versus Mayes.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Ravenscroft Esquire, and Nathaniel Herbert Gentleman, from Two Decrees made in the Court of Exchequer, the Eleventh of May and the Fifth of July last, in this Cause, on the Behalf of Robert Mayes; and praying the Reversal of the said Decrees:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Robert Mayes may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Thursday the One and Twentieth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Beseley versus Stratford.

Whereas, by Order of the Nine and Twentieth of November last, Evseby Beseley was ordered to enter into Recognizance, in relation to his Appeal depending in this House, on Monday last; which he having not yet done:

It is peremptorily ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That some sufficient Person do, for the Appellant, enter into a Recognizance, on or before Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

E. Peterborow, Privilege:

The House being informed, upon Oath, "That Thomas Hoite did cut up and carry away Wood, out of the Park of Drayton, in Sudborough Parish, in the County of Northampton, belonging to Charles Earl of Peterborow, a Peer of this Realm, in the Time of Privilege of Parliament, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:"

Hoite to be attached, for carrying Wood from Drayton Park.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said Thomas Hoyte, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Peter Persehouse Esquire, Serjeant at Arms attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Smith to be attached, for publishing Remarks on the Duke of Shrewsbury's Letter:

The House taking Notice, that there is a Book printed and published, intituled, "Remarks upon the D-of S-'s Letter to the House of Lords, concerning Captain Smith, by Mathew Smith, of The Inner Temple, Esquire;" wherein are several Reflections on the Proceedings of this House:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do forthwith attach the Body of the said Mathew Smith, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

Col. Livesey's Discharge.

This Day Lieutenant Colonel John Livesey was brought to the Bar, by the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House; and being reprimanded, upon his Knees, for his Offence:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Colonel John Livesey shall be, and he is hereby, discharged from the Confinement he lies under, paying his Fees; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Petition before Delivery of a Private Bill.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, for the future, no Private Bill shall be brought into this House, until the House be informed of the Matters therein contained, by Petition to this House for Leave to bring in such Bill; and that this Order be added to the Roll of Standing Orders of this House.
