Recovering Small Debts in Westminster, Bill.

The Lord Marquis of Halifax reported from the Committee, to whom was referred the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the recovering of small Debts, and for relieving of poor Debtors, in Westminster and the Liberties thereof," That Yesterday Parties were to attend the Committee to be heard; and this Day Counsel for Westm'r attended; and that they, being called in, said, They were ready to defend the Bill; and the Lord Villiers desires he may be heard against the whole Bill as it was formerly ordered, though the Bill was since committed."

Whereupon it was ordered as followeth:

L. Villiers to be heard against it.

"Upon Report from the Lords Committees to whom is referred the Bill, intituled, An Act for the recovering of small Debts, and for relieving of poor Debtors, in Westm'r and the Liberties thereof: It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Counsel shall be heard, for and against the said Bill, on Saturday next, at Twelve of the Clock; and that all Persons concerned shall have Notice thereof."

Coleman versus Cane.

Upon reading the Petition of Sarah Coleman Executrix of William Coleman her late Husband, deceased; praying Time for her joining Issue upon the Writ of Error brought into this House by John Cane; as also upon reading the Petition of John Cane, praying a Day may be appointed for hearing the Errors argued upon the said Writ of Error ex Parte, Sarah Coleman not having joined Issue as ordered:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued, upon the said Writ of Error, on Tuesday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant February, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; and that, in the mean Time, the said Sarah Coleman shall join Issue thereupon.

West India Ships, Leave to take Foreign Seamen, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for permitting English Ships to be navigated with Foreign Seamen to and from The West Indies, during the War."

Upon the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for permitting English Ships to be navigated with Foreign Seamen, to and from The West Indies, during the War:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon: And it is further ORDERED, That the Commissioners of the Navy, and the Members of Trinity House, or any other Persons concerned, do then attend, to be heard.

Bayly versus Robson.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Sarah Bayly is Plaintiff, and Anne Robson Defendant, on Tuesday the Second Day of March next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Beaw versus Jones.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of William Beaw, from an Order and Decree made in the High Court of Chancery the Twentieth Day of November last past, in a certain Cause there depending, between Dr. John Jones Plaintiff, and the Right Reverend Father in God William Lord Bishop of Landaff, William late Lord Bishop of Norwich, this Appellant, Dame Elizabeth Lloyd Widow, and others, Defendants; as also upon the Answer of Dr. John Jones, put in to the said Petition;

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel upon the said Petition and Answer, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of William Beaw shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree from which he appealed shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the said William Beaw shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said Dr. John Jones, the Sum of Forty Pounds, for his Costs in defending the said Appeal in this House.

Fidler versus Ly Hanham.

Upon hearlng Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Fidler Gentleman, from a Decree made in the High Court of Chancery, the Sixteenth Day of November last past, wherein the Respondent Dame Elizabeth Hanham was Plaintiff, and the said Appellant Thomas Fidler and others were Defendants; as also upon the Answer of the said Dame Elizabeth Hanham put in to the said Petition:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel upon the said Petition and Answer, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Thomas Fidler shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree from which he appealed shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.

One, intituled, "An Act for vesting the forfeited Estates in England in Their Majesties, to be applied to the Use of the War."

And another, intituled, "An Act for vesting the forfeited Estates in Ireland in Their Majesties, to be applied to the Use of the War."

Poll Bill.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for raising Money by a Poll, payable Quarterly, for One Year, for the carrying on a vigorous War against France," shall be read the First Time Tomorrow, at Twelve of the Clock; and all the Lords be summoned then to attend this House.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords Committees for Privileges shall sit To-morrow, at Five of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Message from H. C. to return Pelham's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Robert Cotton and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for securing, out of some of the Manors, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, of Charles Pelham, of Brockelsby, in the County of Lincolne, Esquire, the Sum of Five Thousand Pounds with Interest, unto Anne Pelham, eldest Daughter of the said Charles," with some Amendments; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Alnage Duty for transferring to the Custom-house, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for transferring the collecting the Duty of Alnage to the Custom-house, and for giving a Recompense to the Crown for the same."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is committed to the Lords following; whose Lordships are to examine into the true Value of the Farm, and remaining Term which is in the Dutchess, and hear Counsel on all Sides to the same; and report specially to the House such their Examination, with their Opinion thereupon, before they proceed upon the Bill; and that the Counsel on all Sides do attend the said Committee.
