Orphans of London, Bill.

The Amendments reported Yesterday from the Committee of the Orphans Bill were read the Second Time, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Amendments.

Cripps' Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate of John Cripps Gentleman, in the County of Kent; and for settling another Estate, of greater Value, in Lieu thereof, to the same Uses.

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill shall be committed to the Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Dutchess of Norfolk, longer Time to answer.

Whereas this Day was appointed for her Grace the Dutchess of Norfolke to make her Defence;

Upon reading the Petition of her Grace the Dutchess of Norfolke, praying (it being a Case of the highest Concern and utmost Importance to her) to give her Time till Monday next to make her Defence:

After hearing her Counsel at the Bar, and upon Oath made that some of the Dutchess's material Witnesses are out of Town, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That her Grace the Dutchess of Norfolke hath hereby Time given her, for making her Defence, until Monday the First Day of February next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Tross versus Pearce.

Upon reading the Petition of Edward Pearce Gentleman; praying a Fortnight's Time longer for answering to the Petition of Henry Tross:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Edward Pearce hath hereby Time given him, for answering thereunto, until Saturday the Thirteenth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Message from H. C. to return the Bill for Punishment of Offenders.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir William Wogan and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to take away Clergy from some Offenders, and punish others," with several Amendments and Provisos; to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

The Amendments and Provisos were read.

Then the Amendments were agreed to in the Bill.

And then an Amendment was offered to be in the First Press of the Clause (A), sent by the Commons, 31 Line.

Message to H. C. that the Lords agree to Amendments in it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir James Astrey:

To let them know, the Lords have agreed to their Amendments to this Bill, with One Amendment in their Clause (A).

Relief of Creditors against fraudulent Devises, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of Creditors, against fraudulent Devises."

And after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Cornwallis reported, "That the Committee had gone through the Bill; and think it fit to pass, with some Amendments."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and ORDERED, The Amendments to be engrossed.

Mutiny Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the punishing of Mutineers and Deserters, preventing false Musters, and paying the Army according to the Musters of Effective Men, and for the better paying of Quarters."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the House had made some Progress therein, and desire another Day may be appointed to proceed thereon."

Dutchess of Norfolk's Witnesses to attend.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Arrabella Knifton, Michael Haddon, Anne Rosse and Mary Rosse her Daughter, Francis Negus Junior, John Carter, Mary Trevis, Mary Jones, John Hall, John Elwell, Grace Cooke, Hoseah Grimsley, Heath, Thomas Benskin, Shelton, and Edward Wright and his Wife, do and are hereby required to attend this House on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to be sworn, as Witnesses on the Part and Behalf of her Grace the Dutchess of Norfolke.

Herbert versus Le Brune.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Charles Herbert and Bartholomew Evans Yeoman, from a Decree made in the High Court of Chancery, the Twelfth Day of December, in the Second Year of Their Majesties Reign, in a Cause there depending between Cornelius Le Brun and Anne his Wife, Oliver Howell Gentleman, Mary his Wife, William Corbet Gentleman, and Elianor his Wife, Complainants, against the Appellants and others, Defendants; as also upon the Answer of the said Cornelius Le Brun Esquire and Anne his Wife, Oliver Howell Gentleman and Mary his Wife, William Corbet Gentleman and Elianor his Wife, Respondents:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on the said Petition and Answer, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Charles Herbert and Bartholomew Evans Yeoman shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree from which they appealed shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.
