Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound for One Year; and for applying the Yearly Sum of Three Hundred Thousand Pounds, for Five Years, out of the Duties of Tonnage and Poundage, and other Sums of Money payable upon Merchandizes exported and imported, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have passed it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Meredith:

To let them know, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

E. of Thanet & al. Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming Two Indentures Tripartite, the one of Lease, the other of Release, made between the Right Honourable Thomas Earl of Thanet Island of the First Part, the Honourable Sackville Tufton Esquire of the Second Part, and the Honourable William Cheney Esquire and Sir Charles Tufton Knight of the Third Part, and the Estates thereby settled."

Kirke's Bill.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for selling the Estate of John Kirke deceased, for Payment of his Debts," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Woollaston's Bill.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Hannab Woollaston Widow, and Jonathan her Son, an Infant, to sell certain Lands and Tenements in Warnford, in the County of South'ton, for Payment of Debts and Legacies, according to the Will of Richard Woollaston Esquire deceased," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Whitchcott's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling Sir Paul Whitchcott Knight and Baronet, and Dame Jane his Wife, to make Leases for Ninetynine Years, of the Manor of Tooting Graveney, and any of their Messuages, Lands, and Hereditaments, in Tooting Graveney, Tooting Beake, and Stretham, in the County of Surrey, for the better Improvement thereof."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be referred to the same Committee, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to confirm a Grant made by the Rector of the united Parishes of St. Michaell Royall and St. Martin's in the Vintry, London, of Part of St. Martin's Church Yard," is referred.

Small Tithes, for more easy Recovery of, Bill.

Messages from H. C. to return Cosserat & al. Nat. Bill; the Bill to exempt Apothecaries from Parish Offices, &c.; and the Bill for rebuilding the Town of Warwick.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Waller and others:

Who returned the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing of Bernard Cosserat, alias Mourte, and Alexander Ringli, and others;" to which they have agreed, with some Amendments, whereunto they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Christy and others:

Who returned the Bill, intituled, "An Act for exempting Apothecaries from serving the Offices of Constable, Scavenger, and other Parish and Ward Offices, and from serving upon Juries;" to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the Lords Amendments.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by the Lord Digby and others:

Who returned the Bill, intituled, "An Act for rebuilding the Town of Warwick; and for determining Differences touching Houses burnt or demolished by reason of the late dreadful Fire there;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the Lords Amendments thereto.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, to robe.

King present.

His Majesty, being arrayed in His Regal Robes and Crown, attended with His Officers of State, ascended His Royal Throne (the Peers being also in their Robes); commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to signify to the Commons, "That it is His Majesty's Pleasure, that they attend Him presently."

Who being come, with their Speaker; he made a short Speech, relating to the Aid Bill to be passed.

Then the Clerk of the Parliaments received the said Bill from the Hands of the Speaker, and brought it to the Table; where the Clerk Assistant, in the Absence and at the Desire of the Clerk of the Crown, read the Title, as followeth; (videlicet,)

Bills passed.

"1. An Act for granting to His Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound for One Year; and for applying the Yearly Sum of Three Hundred Thousand Pounds, for Five Years, out of the Duties of Tonnage and Poundage, and other Sums of Money payable upon Merchandizes exported and imported, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour."

To which Bill the Royal Assent was pronounced in these Words, (videlicet,)

"Le Roy, remercie ses bons Subjects, accepte leur Benevolence, et ainsi le veult."

"2. An Act for exempting Apothecaries from serving the Offices of Constable, Scavenger, and other Parish and Ward Offices, and from serving upon Juries."

To which the Royal Assent was pronounced in these Words,

"Le Roy le veult."

"3. An Act for re-building the Town of Warwick, and for determining Differences touching Houses burnt or demolished by reason of the late dreadful Fire there."

The Royal Assent was pronounced thus,

"Soit fait come il est desiré."

Then His Majesty was pleased to withdraw; and the Commons went to their House.

Lord voting upon a Question, who has a Proxy, to vote for the Proxy too, if Proxies are called for.

The House this Day taking into Consideration, "Whether a Lord, voting in the Question, and having a Proxy, is obliged to give his Vote in respect of such Proxy?"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That a Lord having a Proxy, and voting in the Question, such Lord ought to give a Vote for that Proxy, in case Proxies be called for: And it is ORDERED, That this Order be added to the Standing Orders of this House.

State of the Fleet; Papers returned to the Commissioners of Admiralty to be amended by them.

After reading, this Day, several Papers delivered from the Secretary's Office, and Commissioners of the Admiralty:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Paper delivered by the Commissioners of the Admiralty, intituled, "An Account of the Number of Cruizers employed the last Year, and of their Stations, and of the Times appointed to them respectively to cruize in those Stations," shall be returned, to the End they may add the Dates of their Orders to the Stations: And that, if there be any Orders precedent to those already delivered to this House in relation to the Squadron that carried Mr. Russell to The Barbados, they be laid before this House on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, as also their Answer to the Question last sent them.

L. Berkeley to deliver a Copy of an Order from Admiral Russel.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Berkeley do lay before this House, a Copy of Admiral Russell's Order for his Lordship's proceeding to Cameret Bay, on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

State of the Fleet.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the further Consideration of the State of the Fleet shall be resumed on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
