Sir R. Barkham's Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the vesting the Manors of Earles Croome, alias Jeffery's Croome, and Baughton, in the County of Worcester, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling the Manor-house and Royalty of Waynfleet St. Marye's, in the County of Lincoln, and divers Lands Parcel of the said Manor, of greater Value, to and upon the same Uses; and to enable Sir Robert Barkham Baronet to make Provision for his Younger Children."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill shall be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Friday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Sparhawke versus Alcock.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Sparhawke Gentleman, Brother, Heir, and Executor of James Sparhawke, against a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Twelfth Day of May, One Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety-one, in a Cause wherein Susan Alcock was Complainant, against the said John Sparhawke Defendant; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Susan Alcock may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and shall and she is hereby required to put in her Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Sixteenth Day of this Instant February, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Town of Warwick, for re-building, &c. Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the re-building the Town of Warwick, and for determining Differences touching Houses burnt or demolished by reason of the late dreadful Fire there."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill shall be committed to the same Committee to whom Sir Robert Barkham's Bill is referred.
Proposals to prevent clipping, &c. Money.
The Officers of the Mint and the Master and Wardens of the Goldsmiths Company (having delivered Proposals in Writing, to prevent the clipping and debasing Money, and answered some Questions) withdrew.
And then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider of Ways to prevent the clipping and debasing of Money.
And, after reading the said Proposals, the House was resumed.
And the Lord Godolphin reported, "That the Committee of the whole House had considered of the Papers delivered by the Officers of the Mint and Goldsmiths; and agreed to several Heads, to be referred to a Select Committee, in order to the drawing of a Bill or Bills to prevent clipping and debasing Money; and that the Committee should have Power to consider of Ways to prevent the Exportation of Money for the future; and to send for Persons, Papers, and Records."
To which the House agreed.
Whereupon the Committee following was named; (videlicet,)
Committee to prepare a Bill, to prevent it, and the Exportation of Money.
Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Heads (agreed on by the House) in the Papers delivered at the Bar, by the Officers of the Mint and Company of Goldsmiths, in order to the drawing a Bill or Bills, to prevent clipping and debasing Money; as also to consider of Expedients to prevent the Exportation of Money, and to receive or propose any further or other Expedients in relation to this Matter; and have Power to send for such Persons, Papers, and Records, as they shall think fit, and report to the House.
ORDERED, That the Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench, Mr. Hardesty, and Mr. Tanner, do attend the Committee.
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Friday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Queen's Funeral, E. Marshal to deliver a List of Peers, to execute Offices at it.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Duke of Norfolke do lay before this House, on Friday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, a List of those Peers he shall think proper to execute the several Offices to be performed, by some of their Lordships, in the Procession of Her Majesty's Funeral.
