Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for prohibiting all Lotteries."

The Question was put, "Whether the Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Rejected.

The Question was put, "Whether the Bill shall be read the Third Time?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Privateers for encouraging, and to prohibit Trade with France, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing the Acts for prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with France, and for the Encouragement of Privateers."

The House was resumed.

And the Lord Godolphin reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill, and desire another Time may be appointed for the Committee to sit agains."

ORDERED, That this House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed on the said Bill, To-morrow, the First Business.

Ashby versus Crawford.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Champion Ashby, of London, Merchant, from a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, the Third of December, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-two, and several Orders made in a Cause there depending, between Henry Crawford and Anne his Wife, William Meadowes and Katherine his Wife, Administratrix of John Swanson, deceased, Plaintiffs, and the Petitioner Defendant; as also upon the Answers of Henry Crawford and Anne his Wife, William Meadowes and Katherine his Wife, Administratrix of the said John Swanson, deceased, Plaintiffs, and the Petitioner Defendant:

After due Consideration had thereof, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of the said Champion Ashby shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree and Orders complained of in the said Petition shall be, and they are hereby, affirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the said Champion Ashby shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the Respondents Henry Crawford and William Meadowes, the Sum of Three Hundred Fifty-three Pounds, Fourteen Shillings, and Four Pence, pursuant to the said Orders and Decree, and a Recognizance entered into of Five Hundred Pounds in this House, by the said Champion Ashby and Rodney Fane Esquire; and also that the said Champion Ashby shall pay unto the said Respondents the Sum of Ten Pounds, for their Costs in defending the said Appeal in this House.

Adjourn.
