Macclesfield's Bill.

The Amendment made by the Commons to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Ralph Macclesfeild to sell Lands, for Payment of Debts, and making Provision for his Wife and Children," was read.

To which the House agreed; and ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Pitt's Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to sell Part of the Lands and Tenements of Mathew Pitt Esquire, and Robert Pitt Gentleman, for the Payment of Debts; and to settle the rest of their Lands upon the said Mathew and Robert, and the Wife of the said Robert, and their Issue," as sit to pass, with several Amendments.

Which were Twice read, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Hameldon, Lands, &c. in, for confirming Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee, the Bill, (intituled, "An Act for settling and confirming the Manors and Lands in Hameldon, in the County of Rutland, as they are now enjoyed, and have been for divers Years last past, pursuant to an Agreement for enclosing and exchanging of Lands there,") as sit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were Twice read, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Bayntun's Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more speedy and effectual Execution of the Trust created by the Will of Henry Bayntun Esquire, deceased, and for raising a Portion for his Daughter."

ORDERED, That the Consideration hereof be committed to the Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Three of them; to meet on Monday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Creech versus Maundrell.

Upon reading the Petition of Henry Creech Appellant; and praying, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing of the Cause whereunto Robert Maundrell is Respondent:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on either Side, at the Bar, on Thursday the Second Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Attwood's Bill.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Abell Attwood to sell some Lands, to pay Debts, and make Provision for Younger Children," as sit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Attorney General and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting to Their Majesties certain Rates and Duties of Excise, upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors; for securing certain Recompenses and Advantages, in the said Act mentioned, to such Persons as shall voluntarily advance the Sum of Ten Hundred Thousand Pounds, towards carrying on the War against France."

An Amendment was made, at the Table, by altering ["is"] to ["shall be"].

Hastings versus Seymour's Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Ralph Hastings Esquire; praying, "That he may be heard, by his Counsel, before the passing of a Bill depending in this House, intituled, An Act for the better Assurance of the Manor of Woodlands and Hundred of Knowlton unto Edward Seymour Esquire:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Ralph Hastings shall be heard, by his Counsel, thereunto, on Friday the Third Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Richard Baldwin, Printer, shall attend this House, on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Englefyld versus Sir C. Englefyld.

After hearing Counsel several Days, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Anthony Englefyld Esquire, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Sixth of April, Tertio Jacobi Secundi, in a Cause there depending, between Sir Charles Englefyld Baronet, an Infant, by the Right Honourable the Lady Phillippa Mohun, his Guardian, Complainant, and Anthony Englefyld Defendant; as also upon the Answer of Sir Charles Englefyld Baronet put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side thereupon, it is this Day ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decree, made in the Court of Chancery, the Sixth of April, Tertio Jacobi Secundi, on the Behalf of the said Sir Charles Englefyld, shall be, and it is hereby, reversed.
