Walthall's Bill.

The Earl of Warrington reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Walthall Esquire to sell Lands, for the Payment of Portions and Debts," with some Amendments.

Which were read; and a Clause drawn for Compensation, which they offer to the Consideration of the House.

Which was read, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments and Proviso.

Stone versus Bourne.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Bourne; praying longer Time for answering to the Petition of Susan Stone:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Bourne hath hereby Time given him for answering thereunto, until Saturday the Seventh Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Sir J. Wentworth's Bill.

The Lord Marquis of Halifax reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir John Wentworth Baronet, an Infant under the Age of One and Twenty Years, to make a Jointure out and Settlement of his Manors and Lands in the Counties of Yorke and Westmorland," with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Amendments.

Bromhall versus Leighton, concerning the Bill for Sale of the Office of The Fleet.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas BromhallInfant, per Guardian; shewing, "That Baldwin Leighton hath petitioned, and is ordered to be heard, against the Bill for Sale of the Office of The Fleete, the Seventh of January next;" and praying, "that he may be then also heard, by his Counsel; and that the said Mr. Leighton may forthwith enter into Recognizance, with sufficient Sureties, to answer Costs and Charges:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Bromhall shall be heard, by his Counsel, the Seventh of January next; and that, in the mean Time, the said Baldwin Leighton and Thomas Bromhall Infant, per Guardian, do each of them enter into a Recognizance of One Hundred Pounds, to pay such Costs as the House shall think fit to give in this Matter.

Muschamp versus Burton.

The House being this Day moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein Henry Muschamp Esquire is Appellant, and Phillip Burton Esquire Respondent:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Saturday the Fourteenth Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Message from H. C. to return Hawley's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Hopkyns and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Estate, Real and Personal, late of Henry Hawley, in Trustees, to be sold, or otherwise disposed, for the Benefit of his Daughters and Heirs Susanna and Mary, who are both Minors;" to which they have agreed, without any Amendment.

Bowtell and Webster versus Appleby.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of William Bowtell and Godfrey Webster, from certain Orders and Decree made in the High Court of Chancery, in Two Causes, wherein Stephen Appleby is Plaintiff, against the said Boutell and Webster, et è contra; and praying the Reversal of the said Orders and Decree:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Stephen Appleby may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and be, and is hereby, required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Monday the Ninth Day of January next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

And, after Debate thereupon,

The Question was put, "Whether the Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the Question was proposed, "Whether the House shall be now put into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed on the said Bill?"

Then the previous Question was put,

"Whether the said Question shall be put?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee, to consider of the Bill, intituled, "An Act touching free and impartial Proceedings in Parliament," on Tuesday next, at Twelve of the Clock; and all the Lords to be summoned then to attend.
