Fotherley versus Wankford:

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of John Fotherley Esquire, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, on the Behalf of Robert Wankford, the Seventh Day of November last, whereby the Appellant is decreed to pay the Respondent Three Thousand Pounds, as a Portion in Marriage with his Daughter; as also upon the Answer of the said Robert Wankford put in thereunto:

Judgement affirmed.

After due Consideration of what was offered thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of John Fotherley shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree from which he appealed shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the said John Fotherley shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said Robert Wankford, the Sum of Twenty Pounds, for his Costs.

Leister & al. to reverse the Attainder of, Bill.

Life Annuities, for purchasing, Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling such Persons as have Estates for Life in Annuities payable by several former Acts therein mentioned, to purchase and obtain further or more certain Interests in such Annuities; and, in Default thereof, for admitting other Persons to purchase or obtain the same, for raising Monies for carrying on the War against France."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have passed it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir John Francklyn:

To let the Commons know, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Amyas versus Champante.

Upon reading the Petition of Paul Amyas Gentleman; shewing, "That One of the Respondents, Robert Curtis, was served in Ireland, on the Seventh of March last, with the Order of this House, to answer his Appeal here depending; and that John Lee, of Furnivall's Inne, Gentleman, hath several Orders and other Writings belonging to the Petitioner in his Custody, and refuseth to deliver them:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir John Champante shall have a Copy of the Petition; and do shew Cause to this House, on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock, why a Day should not be appointed for hearing the said Cause; and that the said John Lee do then also shew Cause why the Writings in his Custody relating to this Cause should not be produced at the Hearing.

Public Accompts, for enabling Commissioners to take, &c. Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for appointing and enabling Commissioners to examine, take, and state, the Public Accompts."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it sit to pass, without any Amendment."

To which the House agreed.

Stratford versus Jones.

Whereas Saturday next is appointed for hearing of the Cause wherein Edward Stratford is Appellant, and Edmund Jones Respondent:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Ninth Day of this Instant April, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Adjourn.
