The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That the King had granted a Commission, under the Great Seal of Engl'd, for the further Prorogation of the Parliament."

Hereupon (the Lords Commissioners being in their Robes) the Lord Chancellor being set on a Form cross the House, between the Throne and the Woolsack, with the Lord Archbishop of Cant. the Lord Chamberlain, Earl of Bridgewater, and Lord Bishop of Durham, on his Right Hand, and the Lord Treasurer, Earl of Craven, Lord Dartmouth, and Lord Godolphin, on his Left Hand, commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to give the House of Commons Notice of the said Commission; and to signify to them, That the Lords desire that they would be present, to hear the said Commission read."

Then the Lord Chancellor said,

Parliament prorogued.

"By virtue of His Majesty's Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in His Majesty's Name, prorogue this Parliament to the Two and Twentieth Day of November next: And this Parliament is prorogued to the Two and Twentieth Day of November next."

E. Anglesey takes his Seat.

This Day James Earl of Anglesey sat first in Parliament, by virtue of His Majesty's Writ of Summons, Dat. 8° Die Maii, Anno 2° Jacobi Iidi Regis, upon the Death of his Father Arthur Earl of Anglesey.
