Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Sale of several Lands, for the Payment of the Debts and Legacies of Maurice Shelton and others, and for settling other Lands instead of them."

Hetley versus Hervey.

The House being this Day moved, "That the Cause wherein Carina Hetley is Plaintiff, and John Hervey Esquire Defendant, may be put off for some Time longer:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Thursday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Ld. Longueville assaulted by the Guard at the Playhouse.

The Lord Viscount Longueville informed the House, as follows:

"That the last Night, as he was going into the Playhouse, having given the Fellow a Guinea to change, that receives the Money, not taking the Ticket with him, the Money not being changed, a Serjeant pushed him back; and some of the Soldiers struck him on the Head with their Musket, and gave Order to fire; they knocked down his Page, and wounded his Footman."

Christopher Yelverton Esquire, John Phinney, and John Pegue, were sworn at the Bar, and attested upon Oath what the Lord Viscount Longueville had informed.

Whereupon the Order following was made:

Lieut. Primrose and the Serjeant to be attached.

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House do forthwith attach the Bodies of Lieutenant Primrose and the Serjeant that was Yesterday upon the Guard at the Playhouse, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

"To Sir Thomas Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and every of them; and to all Mayors, Sheriffs."

Players acting suspended.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Chamberlain of Their Majesties Household be, and is hereby, desired immediately to suspend the Players acting, until their Lordships Pleasure be further signified.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Pote, praying a Day may be appointed for hearing his Cause, to which John Raw and Elizabeth Pote are Defendants:

Fowkes versus Joyee.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Joyce, from a Decree made, by the late Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, on the Tenth Day of February, One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-nine, on the Behalf of Richard Fowkes, Thomas Fowler, and Bryan Satterwaight; as also upon the Answer of Richard Fowkes, Thomas Fowler, and Bryan Satterwaight, put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel on either Side upon the said Petition and Answer, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Thomas Joyce shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree, from which he appealed, shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.
