Bishop of Glouc. takes the Oaths.

This Day Edward Lord Bishop of Gloucester took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statute.

Message from H. C. for a Conference about the Safety of the Kingdom.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by the Lord Colchester and others:

To desire a Conference, upon an Information made to that House, of Matters relating to the Safety of the Kingdom.

Agreed to have a Conference, as desired.

Answer.

Then the Commons who brought up the Message were called in again; and told, "That the Lords agree to a Conference, as desired; and appointed the same presently, in the Painted Chamber."

ORDERED, That the Lords following are appointed Reporters of the Conference:

Conference.

Then, after some Time, the Commons being come to the Conference, the Names of the Reporters were read, and the House was adjourned during Pleasure; and the Reporters went to the Conference.

Which being ended, the House was resumed.

And the Duke of Bolton reported, "That they had attended at the Conference; and that Mr. Mountagu managed the Conference for the Commons; and said, that, for keeping a good Correspondency with this House, they thought fit to inform this House as followeth:

L. Danby's Information of intercepted Papers.

"The House being informed, That the Lord Danby can give Information of several Papers of dangerous Consequence to the Government, lately taken by Sir Ralph Delavall, in a French Boat going for Ireland.

"The House being informed, That Sir Ralph Delavall had lately taken a French Boat going for Ireland, with Papers of dangerous Consequence to the Government.

Papers taken by Sir R. Delaval, going to the French Squadron.

"That, among the Papers that were taken by Sir Ralph Delavall out of the French Advice Boat, there was these Two Papers seized; one, intituled, "A true Copy of General Ginckle's Letter to Sir Ralph Delavall;" and the other intituled, "A true Copy of the Lord Nottingham's Letter to Sir Ralph Delavall."

L. Keveton to attend.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Peregrine Lord Keveton do attend this House To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Oaths in Ireland, Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported, from the Select Committee, the Clauses drawn by the Judges to be added to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for abrogating the Oath of Supremacy in Ireland, and appointing other Oaths."

The Clauses were read Twice, and agreed to, and ordered to be engrossed.

Then a Clause was offered, and read, for exempting Attornies, Clerks in Chancery, and Physicians, who were in Limerick at the Capltulation, from some of the Penalties of this Act.

Agreed, and ordered to be engrossed.

And then it was agreed, that the last Clause in the Bill, as it came from the House of Commons, should be left out.

Putt's Bill.

The Lord Chandos reported the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Executors and Trustees of Sir Thomas Putt Baronet, deceased, to lease several Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, during the Minority of Sir Thomas Putt Baronet, Son and Heir of the said Sir Thomas Putt, towards the Payment of Five Hundred Pounds apiece Legacies to his Three Sisters, Margaret, Ursula, and Susannah Putt, as also the Debts of the said Sir Thomas Putt the Father," as fit to pass, without any Amendments.

It is ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Hitchcock versus Sedgwick.

The Earl of Fauconberge reported from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Petition of George Hitchcocke and others, against Obadiah Sedgewick, whether the said Petition was fit to be received or not, "That the Committee had heard Counsel on both Sides thereupon; and that it is the Opinion of the Committee, that the said Petition of George Hitchcock and others ought not to be received by this House."

After Debate thereupon, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Saturday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, the First Business, upon this Point only, Whether the Petitioners George Hitchcocke and others ought to have Liberty to try their Title at Law?

Shore versus Billingsley.

Upon reading the Petition of Dame Sarah Shore Widow, Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Sir John Shore Knight, deceased; and also surviving Residuary Legatee and Administratrix with the Will annexed of Mary Shore, unadministered by the said Sarah Shore, from some Decrees, Orders, and Proceedings of the Court of Chancery, made on the Behalf of Lewis Billingsley; and praying the Reversal of the said Decrees, Orders, and Proceedings; and that all Proceedings on the said Orders and Decrees may be stayed:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Lewis Billingsley may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the First Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; and that, in the mean Time, all Proceedings in the Court below upon the said Decrees and Orders shall be, and are hereby, stayed; whereof the Petitioner is to cause Notice to be given to the Defendant, to the End he answer accordingly.
