Doubling the Excise, Bill for.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for doubling the Duty of Excise upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, during the Space of One Year."

Serle's Bill.

The Lord North reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for selling the Estate of Henry Serle Esquire, deceased," with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and Agreed to.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed, with the Amendments.

Lucy, for breeding a Protestant, Bill.

The Earl of Huntingdon reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for securing the Portion of Elizabeth Lucy, and breeding her up a Protestant, and for transferring the Trust for that Purpose," with some Amendments.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be re-committed, upon the Subject-matter of the Debate, to the same Committee; who are to meet on Monday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers.

ORDERED, That the Lord Bishop of Worcester be added to the said Committee.

ORDERED, That the Earl of Manchester be added to the Committee concerning Mrs. Montagu.

Harris versus Osbolston.

Whereas Monday next was appointed for hearing the Case upon the Petition of John Harris and Elizabeth Harris; as also upon the Petition of Rob't Osbolston Esquire:

The House being this Day moved, "That another Day may be appointed for that Purpose:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Case, upon both the said Petitions, on Monday the Eighth Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Quakers Scruples in Method of swearing, Bill concerning.

Whereas this Day was appointed for the House to be put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent Obstructions of Justice, and other Inconveniencies, occasioned by many Protestant Subjects scrupling to swear in the Form and Manner now used:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed further upon the said Bill, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Paving Streets, &c. Bill.

Chancery, &c. to reform Abuses in, Bill.

The House was put into a Committee, to proceed on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for regulating divers Abuses in the Court of Chancery, and other Courts of Equity."

The House was resumed.

And the Earl of Fauconberge reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill; and desired that Monday might be appointed for the House to be put into a Committee again thereupon."

ORDERED, That the House shall be put into a Committee again on Monday, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to proceed further on the said Bill.
