The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir James Astrey and Doctor Eddisbury:

To deliver to them the Bill for naturalizing of James Dusaii, Theodore Janssen, and others; and to desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Message from thence, with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Talbot and others:

Who brought up a Bill, passed by the House of Commons, intituled, "An Act to provide necessary Carriages in His Majesty's Royal Progress and Removals;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

Bill for Payment of Small Tythes, &c.

The House was adjourned into a Committee, to consider of the Bill for the better Payment of Church Duties, &c.

The House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Londonreported, "That the Committee have been in Consideration of the Bill for the better Payment of Church Duties, &c. And the Opinion of the Committee is, That it is requisite that some Alterations be made in the Preface; but being now shortened in Time, the Committee desires the House will appoint another Day, when the House may be put into a Committee to proceed further therein."

And the House ordered Monday Morning, at Nine a Clock, for that Purpose.

Warcup versus Rowney.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Rowney Gentleman; praying, "That the Hearing of the Cause wherein he is concerned may be put off, for that he is sick and in the Country:"

Upon Consideration hereof, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel on both Sides, in the said Cause, wherein Sir Edmond Warcup is Plaintiff, and Thomas Rowney Defendant, on Saturday the 20th Instant at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; before which Time Thomas Rowney may answer, if he please; whereof Sir Edmond Warcup is to cause Notice to be given to the said Thomas Rowney for that Purpose.

Dowager Ly. Pawlet versus L. Pawlet.

Whereas, by Order of this House, the Trustees of Lord Paulet were to put in an Answer to the Appeal of the Lady Paulet on the Tenth Day of June Instant, which they have not done; upon Oath made at the Bar, by Mr. Samuell Scott, "That he served Mr. Francis Paulett, Sir John Sidenham, and Mr. Edward Stroud, with the said Order, in the Countries where they live, who are the said Trustees of the Lord Paulett:"

After Consideration hereof, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel in the said Cause, at the Bar of this House, on Monday the 22th of June Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; before which Time the said Francis Paulet, Sir John Sidenham, and Edward Stroud, may put in their Answer or Answers thereunto, if they think fit; whereof the Lady Paulet is to cause Notice to be given to the said Trustees for that Purpose.

Percy's Petition found on the Table, referred to Committee of Privileges.

It being moved, "That a Packet of Papers, found upon the Table, might be read; superscribed "Percie's Petition of Complaint, and the Two Petitions that were wanting are annexed, humbly prayed that they may be read, and that Justice may be had, and he shall ever pray: Equal Justice do, or tell the Reason why." This Superscription was read.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Packet of Papers aforesaid be, and are hereby, referred to the Committee of Privileges; to open the same, and report their Opinion of what is fit to be done thereupon to this House.

Williams versus Mellish.

Upon reading the Petition of Edward Mellish, Merchant; shewing, "That, by Order of this House, he was to put in an Answer to the Appeal of Elizabeth Williams on Saturday last; and prays a longer Time for answering, being in the Country above 120 Miles off:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Edward Mellish hath hereby Time given him for putting in his said Answer, till Thursday the 18th of June Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; and hereof he may not fail.

Wingate versus Astrey & al.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the Petition of Sir Francis Wingate and Lettice Wingate Widow, being an Appeal from a Decree made in Chancery, on Exceptions taken by the Petitioners to a Decree made by the Commissioners of Charitable Uses, on the Behalf of the Poor of Harlington; as also upon the Answer of Sir James Astry Knight, and the Churchwardens of the Parish of Harlington:

After due Consideration of what was offered by Counsel on either Part thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Sir Francis Wingate and Lettice Wingate Widow be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and further, that the said Decree from which they appealed be also confirmed: And it is further ORDERED, That the said Sir Francis Wingate and Lettice Wingate Widow do pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said Sir James Astrey, the Sum of Twenty Marks of good and lawful Money of England, for their Costs and Charges in defending the said Appeal in this House.
