L. Hereford's Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for enabling Edward Viscount Hereford to settle a Jointure, on Marriage with Elizabeth Norborn, notwithstanding his Minority."
Message to H. C. for Messrs. Godfrey and Row to attend the Committee for Inspections.
The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee for Inspections, "That a Message be sent to the House of Commons, to desire that Colonel Godfrey and Anthony Rowe Esquire may have Leave to come to the Committee who are appointed to consider who were the Advisers and Prosecutors of the Murders of the Lord Russell, Colonel Sydney, &c. and who were the Advisers of Quo Warrantos against Corporations, &c. to declare their Knowledge concerning those Matters."
To which the House agreed.
And a Message was sent, by Sir Adam Oately and Mr. Meredith, to desire the same of the House of Commons.
E. of Stamford to write to them, to come.
ORDERED, That the Earl of Stamford do write to them, to come to the Bar, to be sworn, in order to their giving Information to the said Committee.
Succession of the Crown, and Rights of the Subject, Bill.
The House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to consider of the Clause of the Dispensing Power in the Bill for the better securing of the Liberties of the Subjects.
The House was resumed.
And the Earl of Mulgrave reported, "That the Opinion of the Committee was, That the further Consideration of this Business be adjourned till Tomorrow Morning, the First Business; and that all the Lords about the Town have Notice hereof, and (fn. 1) all the Judges to attend."
Hereupon the House made the ensuing Order:
"Whereas this Day the House was in a Committee, to consider the Bill of Rights; and upon Debate of the Clause for taking away Non Obstantes: It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the House shall be in a Committee To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, upon the same Bill: And it is further ORDERED, That all the Judges do attend the House Tomorrow; and that all the Lords in and about the Town be summoned to attend also To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon."
Presgrave versus Sherman.
Whereas To-morrow was appointed for hearing the Cause wherein William Presgrave is Plaintiff, and Thomas Sherman is Defendant:
It is ORDERED, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Monday the 25th of November Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
